Now that that's out of the way...
My Patreon-exclusive Halloween costume is finally here! MYSTIQUE from XMen πππ
I decided to make this challenging and do FULL BODY PAINT... and challenging it was. π
Besides the tedious task of painting myself, the biggest challenge was the mess. I was so careful not to drip, not realizing that no matter what, I was going to flake dry blue powder wherever I went.
I noticed a little mess after the HIM cosplay, (red paint) but that one wasn't FULL body paint and I thought the mess was just where I sat on the stairs. Nope. I mopped a couple locations, but then Marti came over and her white socks turned red. π So after Mystique, I basically had to mop my entire house as soon as I was done. π₯΄ (I wanted to stick to one location to paint and shoot, but it just wasn't realistic with my setup)
I'm really happy with how my face makeup turned out. I'm not crazy about this wig at the hairline, but the hair itself was pretty good for being so cheap. That's one thing I definitely want to upgrade next year: High-quality wigs! They're of course more expensive, but I think it'll be worth it. Like, if we're gonna go all out let's GO ALL OUT!
As you can see with the body paint itself, it's just blue. π I am wearing pasties, and I decorated them with fabric paint, lol. I actually SMUDGED the right one while I was painting my feet, π so I had to go back in and photoshop it in most of these pics! I did not have the right color body paint to add those marks directly on my skin, so that aspect is missing. I made the face ones by pinning blue mesh/tulle to a mannequin head and applying fabric paint in the design I wanted, but I didn't have time to make ones to cover my entire body. I thought maybe I could do eyeshadow, but it wasn't coming out right. And once I got started, there was so starting over. π
For a sexy cosplay, I think it's cute! The painting itself was fun and kind of therapeutic, and I'm so happy my contacts came in time. For a more practical Mystique, I recommend getting the actual bodysuit. π
I included some bonus pics at the end! Including what my back and the unretouched paint looked like, and my Smurf toes.
I hope you enjoy. Thank you for another fun spooky season!
