[VLOG] HEX the WORLD Tour: SPAIN (Patreon)

The third and final vlog in our HEX the WORLD Tour series (2022 Edition) is finally here!

I'm just proud of myself for getting it edited and uploaded before the one-year anniversary. 😅

One note I will make before you watch the video: I think this is the last of my vlogs I did with my old phone case and I'm SO GLAD because it affected the audio. So there are some moments where my phone was clicking and it drives me nuts, but hopefully it won't bother you too badly, and just know it should be the last one!

When figuring out this trip, Marti and I really wanted to stay a week in Spain. So without fully knowing all the places we'd be going in Europe, we decided to book our flights home to the US from Barcelona, so we could spend our last week there.

Then the bookings started to fall into place, and we got one in Portugal! We were so HEXcited; it was for a show and a seminar. Marti has ancestors from Portugal (as well as Spain) and has been wanting to visit ever since she was little.

The only "problem" is that it fell on our last weekend in Europe, which meant we would have to cut our stay in Spain short. This booking was going to leave us only enough time to do three days in Barcelona, then three days in Portugal. (I know, I say "only" when some people would kill for three days in either!) Those three days each also included travel, and then we would have to fly back to Barcelona just to go home. Those are short flights within Europe so it wasn't a big deal. We did want to spend more time in each place, but we were grateful to be adding another country to our HEX the WORLD Tour!

Well... those of you who followed our posts on social media or here on Patreon already know that Portugal did not happen for us on this trip. 😅 I won't go into detail here, because there is a LOT of HEXplanation in the video, including our 12-hour stay at the Barcelona airport. 🙃

BUT... that's why you should be careful what you wish for. We got to stay in Spain for a week after all! Not quite how we intended for it to happen, but it worked out because not only was it a great place to be "stuck", but we were already where we needed to be to get home!

And we made the most of it, of course. We visited the Salvador Dali Museum in his hometown, we drank sangria & ate paella, we walked Las Ramblas, we explored Barcelona's most iconic monument that is La Sagrada Familia, we dined where Picasso dined, we saw penguins at the city's giant aquarium, we rode a rollercoaster on top of a mountain, and we ate so many "American Style" "Buffalo" chicken sandwiches at McDonald's! 😜

I actually think I only ate two of them. But they were only in Spain and my mouth still waters thinking about them. We also tried their random McFlurry flavors as we did in every country, but I don't remember Spain having any crazy ones.

Our new friends at Lucha Libre Barcelona were also gracious enough to invite us to do a seminar for their students when our Portugal trip got cancelled, which helped us make some money while we were there to cover our extra expenses! 🥺

This is a long video, but the beauty is you can stop and play as you please! I will say, our airport shenanigans ends up being like 10 minutes of the video, but that is 12 hours condensed into 10 minutes. 😅 And you can always skip that part if you'd like!

One week wasn't enough, and Marti and I would love to go back! But we have some other countries in our sights as well. 👀😍
