Battle Mechanics (Patreon)
Content
This guide is true for game versions starting from v.0.40 and higher.
Your turn is first.
You can wait and pass the turn to your opponent, or you can hit the opponent with the equipped weapon, or you can use magic spell.
At the beginning of the game, you only have two magic spells:
- Decay Touch – deals damage to the enemy, ignores any armor.
- Collect Energy - use to restore your energy during battle.
Gradually while playing the game you can unlock many other magic spells.
Your enemies also have special skills. Each enemy has a basic attack (or two basic attacks) and a powerful special attack.
To use an attack, they have to be focused. To prevent this, you can use your turn to have a chance break their concentration and make them just miss their turn with no effect on you. To break an enemy’s concentration, just deal them some damage. If you succeed, the chance of your opponent just passing his turn with no effect will be 50%.
Notice: if that if the enemy takes less damage then he blocks, you won’t break his concentration and he’ll be able to use his special attack on you anyway.
Example 1: you want to prevent the enemy to make an attack. He has 3 points of armor this turn. You attack him and deal 5 points of damage with your skill. Thanks to his armor, the enemy blocks 3 points of damage and takes only 2 points of damage from your attack. Since the damage taken is less than the damage blocked, his concentration is not broken and he deals you damage with his attack on his turn.
Example 2: you want to prevent the enemy to make an attack. He has 1 point of armor this turn. You attack him and deal 5 points of damage with your skill. Thanks to his armor the enemy blocks 1 point of damage and takes 4 damage from your attack. Since he took more damage than he blocked, his concentration is broken and he has to miss his turn with no effect on you.
Some enemies can also use boost skills:
They try to restore their health points (when the demon creates a blue pattern on the ground) or increase their extra damage (when the demon creates a red pattern on the ground). This action also demands concentration and can be canceled with you do damage as described above with 100% chance.
The battle lasts until one of the participants loses all their health (the red bar above the head of each fighter).
