092-A Harlem Speakeasy (Patreon)

"Drinking excited my personal repugnance, hence I don't drink—let the herd do what they will. I am rather in favour of prohibition—the prohibition of any one anti-social force as well as of any other."-HP.Lovecraft

I am pleased to present "A Harlem Speakeasy"!

I heard that Howard has a weakness for alcohol. It's no secret that he regularly visits a small speakeasy in the neighborhood, and I intend to get my hands on him...The place is animated with a jazzy atmosphere. I see my man sitting alone at a table. He seems to be absorbed by the bewitching music played by the pianist. I stay at a distance to avoid a stupid reaction from him, and order myself a whisky.I've been watching the guy quietly for a few minutes, he's nodding his head in rhythm... just like me. Then the images of all our recent adventures come to my mind. The walls crumble, distort, come alive in music and seem to illustrate my nightmares. In a few minutes, I feel defenseless, unable to move. I realize too late that I am not chasing this man, Howard, but that it is he who is chasing me into my mind! I am on his territory! He turns to me and throws me a carnivorous smile, the music does not stop any more...
