106-A Private Gathering (Patreon)

"Inspector Legrasse was scarcely prepared for the sensation which his offering created. One sight of the thing had been enough to throw the assembled men of science into a state of tense excitement, and they lost no time in crowding around him to gaze at the diminutive figure whose utter strangeness and air of genuinely abysmal antiquity hinted so potently at unopened and archaic vistas."-HP.Lovecraft

I am pleased to present "A Private Gathering"!Let me be clear! We should never have found ourselves sitting around eating lobster while listening to a sordid speech... The hazards of the trade shall we say...Anyway, on my left was one of the most generous donors in the West, and on my right was a duchess from Europe. The umpteenth politician was announced, and came to blow into the microphone:

"My dearest friends, I've just returned from an island in the South Pacific, where I had a surprising encounter, to say the least. What if I told you that I could turn our little party into the most powerful party America has known in all its history!"

I almost spit out what was in my mouth. My rich neighbor to the left offered, "Would you like some more lobster?"
