The Broken Colossus

Out in the quiet between places, something enormous has been pinned down and left to drift.

A titan. Or what’s left of one.

Its body is shattered into islands, lashed together by heavy chains that stretch across the void. Stone, metal, and something older than both have fused into a strange, living ruin. Moss grows where it shouldn’t. Crystals pulse with their own dim logic. A blade still stands where it struck, as if the moment never quite ended.

It doesn’t feel dead.

And the chains don’t feel like they were made for mercy.

You could run this a dozen ways and never repeat yourself. Maybe your players arrive chasing a rumor or a relic and realize too late they’ve stepped onto something far bigger than the job. Maybe the place shifts while they’re on it: paths closing, new ones revealing themselves. Maybe something else is already here, moving along the chains when no one’s looking directly at it.

Or maybe the real question is simpler: what happens if something wakes up? This map shines when you let it stay a little unexplained. It’s a place for big reveals, strange encounters, and that moment when your table goes quiet because everyone suddenly understands they’re standing somewhere they shouldn’t be.

And of course— they’re going to cross the chains anyway.
