Leon x Phoenix(OC)

Words: 1,927
Contains: Slight comfort, Slight whump.

Arms around Jessica, Leon whispers something in her ear, she only nods and then reaches up to gently hold the wound on her right arm. Making their way back to the encampment, Leon slides off the back of the ride and helps Jessica off gently. He catches Richard's eyes and motions for him to follow him before they report back to Smith. He guides Jessica into a vacant tent making sure Richard is with them before helping Jessica sit on a bench.

"We're not saying she's been bit." Leon says casually to the army man as he searches for a med kit.

"What?! But she's gonna turn!" He shouts in a hushed tone, a hand pointing at her causing Jessica to lower hear head.
Leon shakes his head as he kneels down in front of her. "I think she's immune." He states, reaching a hand up to the blanket around Jessica he looks to her. "May I?" She gives him a nod and lets go of the blanket around her body.
Leon pulls it off her right shoulder and sliding up the sleeve of her gown to see the half-hazard wrapping of the bandage he had put on her when they first met.
"Go and find her some clothes, if she wasn't immune she would have turned already. She's also been injected with the flu shot and still not showing signs." He assured Richard as he starts to remove the bloodied bandage from her right bicep.

Richard sighs in defeat, Leon had a point. He then turns around to go ask any of the females around the place if they had any spare clothes she could have.
Leon reveals the bite wound, it was starting to become pusy and infected.
"I need to clean this, it's going to sting." He warns as Jessica nods, not wanting to speak, tears still uncontrollably falling down her cheeks.

"Sorry..." She apologises, wiping her eyes with the blanket still over her left shoulder.

"No need to apologise. You haven't done anything wrong." He assures her as he places the alcohol soaked gauze on the wound, causing Jessica to hiss and grab his hand causing the pain. "Sorry.. See I have a reason to say it." He said forcing a smile on his lips as their eyes lock.
Leon manages to clean up her wound and wrap it properly this time. Offering her some antibiotics.

"Is it doxycycline?" She asked looking up to Leon.

"No? Just normal Antibiotics?"

Jessica hands them back. "I'm allergic to Amoxicillin.." She says shrugging sheepishly.

"Oh.. Um." Leon takes the pill back from her and puts it back in the bottle before thinking of how he could help her with the infection, he didn't want her getting ill.

"My house is literally just a 5 minute walk that way." She said pointing to the door of the tent. "I could get some clothes and shoes as well then."

Leon gives a nod, that sounded like a good idea. Richard had entered once again empty handed. "You're going to take Jessica to her house, it's only five minutes away." Leon orders as he helped Jessica to her feet.

"Sir!.." Richard replies and gives Leon a look.

"Trust me.. She's fine." Leon answered his silent question. "And call me Leon, I thought we already went through this." He knew it was just a habit for him to be formal when around other higher ranking officers.

Richard leads Jessica out of the tent and she leads him down the road to her house. Leon in the mean time, takes the box of flu shots to the Sargent. He explains what he saw and how everything went. There were no casualties as both he and Richard made it out in one piece and uninfected, as well as saving a civilian.
"What do you intend on doing with this?" Leon asks after reporting.

"We will be sending it to the US, you're more capable of finding out information about it. Besides, it came from there in the first place." Sargent Smith answers.

Something doesn't sit right with Leon though, but it was his orders. He just hoped that he was going to do what he said he would. Leon had been used too many times to not just trust the words of a higher up.
"What do you suggest we do with the infected? Seeing as you are the expert?" Sargent Smith asked.

"Have people go together in groups through the town, there could very well be survivors in there. Have them clean out any infected, just don't get bit or you'll turn as well." Leon instructed as he makes his way out of the tent. Sighing heavily he rolls his right shoulder seeing Jessica and Richard entering the encampment once again. Jessica had a small backpack on her back, wearing her own clothes and looking more comfortable.

Walking to meet them, Leon speaks up. "Do you have a pathology capable medic on site?"

"Um.. Yes, si- Leon.. This way." Richard leads them to the tent where some blood from very dead infected bodies were being examined.

"We need a quick blood test." Leon demands. "We were just in the town." He added to his demanding request. This wasn't necessary, however he was mainly curious as to what Jessica's test results would come back as.
The medic didn't hesitate in removing some blood samples from the three of them, placing the tubes in the separating machine. She removes them after they were done and runs some tests to detect any T-Virus in their blood, all coming back negative.
Leon thanks her, leading the other two out of the tent and looking around for what to do next.
"You are free to leave, Richard... Thank you for your help.." He thanks as Richard nods and walks off to meet with the rest of his mates, he needed to tell them what he had seen.

"Condor One to Roost." Leon says placing fingers to his left ear. Jessica is standing there with Leon, not sure what she was supposed to do. She examines the surrounding area, people in army gear and medical clothes were walking around in various directions. She chuckled to herself as she thought about how everyone looked like ants, running around all over the place. She then tunes back to reality and catches the ending of Leon's conversation.

"Thanks Roost, I owe you one. You sure you don't want that coffee at some point?" You raise a brow, was he flirting? "Fine.. You just do a lot for me already... Uhuh... Talk then. Condor One out." Leon removed his finger from his right ear. Placing both hands on his hips he drops his head in what seemed to be either fatigue or defeat, maybe both?

"So... What do I do now?" Jessica asks looking to Leon, her hands holding the straps of her backpack.
Leon stays in the same position for a moment as he thinks, the conversation he just had with Hunnigan didn't seem fair to Jessica, but if it could help...

"Do you have a passport?" He asked suddenly, his head lifting and locks eyes with her hazel ones.

Her brows furrow and looks at him with confused eyes. "Yes.. I do. It's still valid for another 5 years." She explained, head tilting to the right slightly. "Why do you ask?"

"Do you have it on you?" He asked side stepping her question.

"Yes... I grabbed it as a form of ID, I left my wallet in the hospital. I ran from there and made it to the clinic an hour or so before you found me." She explains.

"Good, my contact is booking two tickets back to America. She will contact me when we are booked on a flight." He answers finally.

"What?! Why me? Is it because.. You know?" She asks stopping herself from speaking out in the public area. Leon only gives a nod and makes his way over to the Sargent, he asks for a form of transport to the airport.
Jessica stands there feeling her heart racing, she was scared, was she going to be a test dummy? She knew what it felt to be a pin cushion with the amount of blood tests and surgeries she had been through, but this will probably be different.

Once Leon had secured a ride for them both he makes his way over to Jessica once again. Staring at here shamelessly as he approached her, reading her body language and expression. Once standing in front of her she looks up to him with unsure eyes, he couldn't do this to her against her will, He didn't care how much trouble he would be in. This didn't feel right.

"Look.." He sighs heavily and scratches his hand in his hair, a thoughtful expression on his face making the bridge of his nose scrunch up. "I... You don't have to come if you don't want to.." He says, his words were genuine, but Jessica could hear he was struggling to say them, as if he was a robot going against it's programming.

Looking down and then back to the town she had grown up in, Jessica sighs. "I'll go with you." She says looking up into Leon's eyes. His brows raise in surprise, there was something in her eyes that kept his own gaze staring into hers. An unwavering sense of determination and strength, but he could also see fear.

Pulling his gaze away from hers he clears his throat and steps to the side, extending his arm out in the direction their ride to the city was. "Your chariot awaits." He says trying to be funny in an attempt to lighten the mood, but it hadn't seemed to work.
Jessica walks over to the army truck and climbs into the back, sitting beside her once again was Leon. Though beside was a loose term, she had one side of the vehicle, looking out the window and Leon had the other side. Leon had made sure he was aloud to leave before organizing a ride, now heading back to the city he had only landed in a few hours earlier. Such was his life. Turning up somewhere, doing his job that could take from hours to weeks and then heading home. He was glad he didn't have to deal with any BOWs this time, but they had apparently been sighted. That's okay.. He had told them to stay in groups and they should all survive.

Leon was pulled from his thoughts as he removed his eyes from the window he was looking through, turning his head to look at his new charge. Running his tongue along his molers, Leon opens his mouth to speak. Closing his mouth soon after, he was sure if she had any questions she would ask him. Right now he thought maybe she needed the silence, she had just accepted to leaving everything behind in a split second choice.

"I'm not doing this for you.." Jessica speaks up, having seen him looking at her in the reflection of the window. This makes Leon turn back to her, eyes furrowed slightly with a silent question.
"I'm going with you because maybe I can help stop this from happening again." She says looking to Leon then turning away once more, keeping her gaze out of the window for the rest of the trip to the airport.
Leon gives a nod, answering her, but also answering his own question he was about to ask before she had spoken.
