Leon x F!Reader

Words: 1,847
Contains: Description of Dead Bodies, Comfort, Leon being an understand boyfriend.

Both of you stand over the table in the briefing room, looking through all the folders, you knew it was Umbrella that started this, but who was still here causing these outbreaks? They would have to show their ugly head's eventually, right? You were starting to get frustrated, how could they be right under your nose, but you weren't even close at the same time?

Leon could see you were starting get frustrated, your movements were faster and more aggressive. Your brow constantly scrunched and the tapping of your fingers on the table as well as your foot on the ground.
"Maybe we need to go into the city and see if we can find anything where the outbreaks are happening?" He suggests.

You only nod, reaching to take the plastic white cup of cold water and skull what was left in it before throwing it in the bin beside the door. "Let's go.." Your tone was low and emotionless.

Leon sighs as he watched you leave the room, looking to the table he spots a photo taken in the city of the infected. Something catches his eye and he reaches down to pick it up, squinting he could see a blurred figure standing in the background. Stark compared to the other infected this person seemed to be perfectly fine.
You had gotten all the way down the hall before noticing Leon wasn't following you, huffing in frustration you march back to the room and see Leon squinting at a picture.

"Leon.. What are you d-"

"Look at this picture. Does anything stand out to you?" He holds it out for you to take.

You let out another huff and take the picture from his hands, slightly more aggressive than you had intended. Looking at the picture you see the infected.
"Yeah it's of the zombi- hold up.." You say focusing in on the same figure in the background. Looking up to Leon your furrowed brow finally softens. "Do you think..?"

Leon gives a nod. "Yeah.. I do."

And with that you tuck the picture into a pocket on your cargo pants, the velcro sealing it away safely. You both hurry out of the building and to the car you had driven back from the Umbrella lab. You naturally hop in the driver's seat, Leon in shotgun before you take off, quickly out of the BSAA facilities.
You were going to get whoever was doing this, your hands tight on the wheel as you listen to Leon's instructions on where to go, a map in his hands.
He looks over to you, seeing your white knuckles, he pursed his lips slightly and places his hand on your right thigh. Your grip instantly loosens as you give him a quick look, seeing the worry in his eyes.

"Leon, I'm fine." You say, not knowing why he was looking at you that way.

"No.. You're not. You need to try and stay level headed. Yes, Chris is in the hospital, but he's going to be fine. We'll get whoever this is." He assures, his thumb rubbing the side of your thigh.
You could feel your shoulders relax as you feel his touch and hear his words. He was right, you were starting to want revenge on what had happened here. That wasn't going to get you anywhere if you wanted to get this job done, seeing red would be blinding on what was happening around you and you could become reckless. You could end up like Chris if you weren't alert.

Taking a few deep breaths and exhaling you felt everything melt away. "I'm sorry, I just want to find who did this. And.." You pause thinking, your eyes on the road. "I have seen so much death, I think it's starting to get to me." You explain keeping your eyes on the road, your driving starting to become less erratic.

"I know. which is why I didn't want you to come."

"But clearly it's good I did. If it weren't for me you would still be in that jet, submerged under water, dead." You state, giving him a quick flick of your gaze before looking back to the road.

"That is partly true, yes." He admits. He removes his hand from your thigh and leans back in his seat, looking at the map. "If you take a left here we can drive straight to the army's camp." He said looking at the circle and hand written notes on the map.

Sure enough you come up to a small encampment. Parking the car, the both of you get out, a man in army gear holding a gun walks up to you.

"Du kannst nicht hier sein." He says to you in a demanding voice.

You both pull out your badges and hold it up to him. "We are from the DSO, The president sent us to help out with this situation, get to the bottom of it." Leon explained, speaking slightly slower than he normally would, not sure if this person knew English well or at all.

"Ah, More Americans. Come!" He instructs, turning and walking into the encampment, finding an older man he salutes and speaks to him in German. The man turning to you both and standing from the seat he was in, recognising you from the information that both of you had come to help.

"You finally got here." He sounded relieved.

"Yes, sorry we were dealing with other matters, trying to figure out where the BOWs are coming from." You say fiddling with your own fingers behind your back.

Leon continues your report. "We found the laboratory, but a good friend was injured and we had to make sure he was going to live."

The older man nods in understanding. "Chris was injured, correct? His team are still helping us take out any of the infected. More and more seem to keep popping up. If we keep this up we will have no one left in the city."

Leon could understand, he nudges your arm then points to where you had put the picture. "Oh.. Right." You say undoing the velcro and pulling out the picture.
"Do you know this place or the person in the back?" You ask holding it out to the older man.

He takes the picture and looks at what you were talking about, shaking his head after thinking for a second. "But this picture was taken just around the block, Maybe you can find something there?"

"Thank you." Leon says with a nod as you take the picture back from the man.

"I hope you get to the bottom of this, Agents." He says saluting the both of you.

You salute back and turn in the direction he had mentioned the picture to be taken. adjusting your belt and jacket around your body you take the lead, walking through the encampment, some of the men watching and looking you up and down. You could feel their stares and eyes glued to you as you walk past them, Leon staring them down when he would spot the looks you were getting. Walking closer to you out of protection and showing them you were together, you both walk through and out of the base.

Making your way through the streets now, you look around at the mess. Bodies on the ground covered in blood and malformed, some ripped to shreds and others laying face up, mouth's open wide, blood around their mouths.

You felt sick to your stomach knowing some of these people died being eaten alive, and others taken over by this virus who did the eating, only to be shot and killed. You place a hand to your mouth and look ahead, trying not to have any of the bodies in your sights.
Leon saw your hand coming up to your mouth as he followed you from behind, his eyes softening as he closed the gap between you two. A hand wrapping around your arm, pulling you into the side of his body.
"Just keep your eyes up, I'll guide you." His voice was low and soft.

You did as he said and looked up and around at the buildings towering over you. windows broken, looking away as you saw a body half hanging out of one.
"Sorry.. I will get used to it, but this is a lot right now." You apologise once again for how you were reacting.

"It's fine, you don't remember the things you have seen, this is very normal to feel this way." He explains.

"How do you deal with it? I mean, this is so much death and.. How do you not get effected by it?"

Leon was silent for a little bit, then exhales in a soft sigh. "I do get effected by it, it's not something you should have to get used to." He looks around, turning a corner with you as he keeps and eye and ear out for any danger.
"And how I deal?" He thinks for a moment on how to word it. "You.. You are my coping mechanism. We would always talk about what we had been through on a job and comfort each other. It's best to get everything off your chest rather than trying to keep it inside."

You nod. "That makes sense why you want to talk to me when you came home." It made sense when you would sit with him as he talked about how he was feeling over the months. To hear Leon say these words himself was slightly eye opening to how in tune with his emotions he was.

Leon gives a nod to your deduction and continues leading you through the streets, stopping at a building.
"Can I have a look at the picture?" He asked looking down to you.

"Huh? Oh... yeah." You were pulled from your thoughts, reaching to your pocket and ripping apart the velcro to take the picture out, handing it to Leon's outstretched hand.
He takes it gently and lifts it up to be in front of him, lining it up with the building in front.

"This is the place. Do you think you'll be okay?" He asked letting the arm around you fall to his own side.

You give a hesitant nod, looking from his eyes to your surroundings. There were still bodies, but you close your eyes and take a deep breath. The smell of smoke from the flaming, crashed cars and the stench of death filling your nose. You had slightly gotten used to the smell having been walking through it for the passed 20 minutes.
"I'll be okay, let's do this."

Leon gives a nod and hands the picture back to you. "We can talk about it when you are ready. It really does help to get it out." He explained placing his hand on the top of your head, a comforting smile on his lips.

You give a nod and pull your handgun out of it's holster on the back of your belt.
"Alright.. Let's go catch some bad guys."
