A moment later, it unleashed a searing inferno upon its newest challengers, eager to add them to the pile of charred bones that had begun to collect upon the floor of its lair. But as the smoke cleared, the silhouette of a warrior became clear, blade in hand; unscathed just like the rest of their companions. Incredulous, the dragon stepped back as the warrior stepped forth, speaking with a measured tone, “We’ve seen hotter.”
