An arrow tipped with a fragile container of writhing ooze, primed to briefly puppeteer a creature’s body before expiring.

Sudden Spasm. On a hit, if the target is a creature it must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature must immediately use its reaction, if available, to make a melee attack against a target within range. 

Once a Lapsing Arrow hits a creature, it becomes a nonmagical arrow. 

Other types of magic ammunition of this kind exist, such as bolts meant for a crossbow, though arrows are most common. 

Long after harvesting, the essence of a supplanter remains as insidious as ever. Beings unfortunate enough to come in contact with the substance feel a momentary loss of control, flailing wildly at those within their vicinity before regaining their faculties. Though brief, the experience makes one wary of the dangers that come with handling such material.
