Infinitely Propagating Architects of the Grand Design

Seemingly composed of nothing but pure intellect at the expense of physicality, a fractal has only one purpose; to spread itself across the planes in a neverending mission. Each fractal’s pattern is unique, and each sees its own pattern as perfect and superior to all other existence. Calculating and reclusive by nature, these aberrant beings slowly but surely dominate their surroundings, infecting the local populace with a mysterious influence. As entire villages and towns come to fall under a fractal’s control, the aberration’s army of thralls grows over time. 

Otherworldly Presence. By its very nature, a fractal seems to defy all conventional manner of understanding. Possessed an almost robotic focus and obsession with fulfilling its desire to propagate across the realm, these beings rely on nothing but cold, unfeeling logic. Seeing themselves as something akin to a solution to the irrationality of existence, fractals and their motivations are beyond normal comprehension. 

Master Mind. As the number of beings under a fractal’s control grows, the fractal’s desire to spread and infect even more of the surrounding population becomes impossible to ignore. Any possible threats are quickly discovered by means of a spy network as intricate as any thieves guild, and whisper campaigns orchestrated by a singular mind masterfully stoke strife between friends and family. Before long, entire cities either collapse or are forced under the fractal’s thumb in the resulting wake. 

Strange Encounters. Beings who encounter a fractal and live to speak of their experiences seem to have hazy and muddled memories pertaining to their time under its influence. Descriptions of a euphoric trance-like state commonly pepper their stories, the bond between them and the fractal blurring between lovingly familial and devoutly reverent depending on the time. 

A kaleidoscope of lights and sounds dazzle your senses, threatening to crack your mind like an egg with their splendor. As you continue to stare into the infinitely spiraling colors, the sensation spreads throughout your entire body. Just as you begin to feel overwhelmed, you are released from whatever hold this being has over you and its true form fully enters your vision; splendid and terrible all at once.
