Almost done editing Bridgerton 2x2. Have to put it on hold to record a reaction. I felt a little sick and weak today so I've been in bed a lot. -Corey

Wether or not you like Damon doesn’t matter. He really is trying to help Stefan. Stefan has spent his whole vampire life being a slave to blood and letting it control him. The reason why Damon can feed without becoming a ripper and feed off someone and stop before they even get close to dying because he can control his urges unlike Stefan. What’s normal to a vampire is drinking human blood. Sure Stefan can live off and survive off animal blood but he would be weak. He wouldn’t be strong and his powers wouldn’t work well. And it’s essential that he’s strong or else how is he going to possibly fight off people like klaus and protect his loved ones? This is a hard truth but Stefan needs to learn this

I agree wholeheartedly. At the end of the day, it’s Stefan own fault for not being to control himself around blood not Damon’s. I don’t like how igli was blaming damon for Stefan’s blood issues. Damon can control himself, and that’s why he was trying to help Stefan out.

It was such a good plot twist that Alaric turned out to be the killer the whole time. It’s such a good misdirect because most people thought it was Meredith.

I get what Damon tries to do but it’s sad to watch knowing that Stefan being a ripper is literally him being an addict. Damon keeps putting Stefan in positions to relapse, and is basically forcing Stefan to deal with the consequences that follow when all he does is try to avoid going down that path. Like it’s messed up. I think the blood bags even if it isn’t the same should’ve been the approach , given Damon already tried this method and it created Stefan’s iconic “ RippAh” persona. Like Stefan had a whole nickname “ ripper of Monterey “ and its antics were so bad klaus was fascinated by him. My poor Stefan just fighting for his humanity😭😂

but here’s the thing, it’s not as simple as, “the reason why damon can feed without becoming a ripper”. stefans (ripper) illness is rare amongst vampires. he was essentially like this ever since he became a vampire, and throughout the years, his guilt has been eating at him & he’s been trying to have it under control for years but since this illness of his is so rare, there’s not much anybody can do, which is why he’s so comfortable with the only way he’s ever known; living off of animal blood. it worked for him for over fifty years and during those years, he didn’t hurt anyone. and it’s not simply stefan needing to “learn the hard truths”. damon for one can never understand bc he’s never been in stefans situation before. damon never had that problem. it’s stefan against himself bc unlike his brother, he has strong empathy for others, and this is something emily alluded to when stefan was in transition (of becoming a vampire). it’s not stefans fault lol, this is something that’s been apart of him ever since he became a vampire. pushing it under the guise of “stefans own blood issues” and stating that it’s stefans own fault for sickness is very unusual given the circumstances, you know what i mean?

Lizzie

Also regardless of who ships who , the real relationship in TVD to root for is Stefan and Damon ❤️Defan

I never said it’s his own fault I understand this is his curse as a vampire but that doesn’t change the fact that he still needs to control it the right way. Yeah he survived off animal blood for decades and that was fine because he had no enemies to fight so it didn’t matter that he was weaker than other vampires but now it does matter. They have so many enemies that it’s essential that’s he’s as strong as he can be and the only way for that is drinking human blood. I’m not saying he should feed on girls on the streets. He needs to learn to sustain off blood bags but he can only do that if he controls his addiction first with practice. With Stefan it’s either way too much or not enough when it comes to blood but he needs to learn that perfect medium.

Hope you get better soon 💚🤍🩵

haha yeah sorry, i was replying to both of the comments (yours and the one directly under it). i was explaining that it’s not as easy or simple as you and others are putting it. as if stefan is simply rejecting whatever comes his way for whatever reason, when it’s that he for so long, has been fighting this battle with himself. it’s very hard as stefans empathy is at risk as well as other humans. this is a rare illness in the supernatural world; a curse. it’s a good thing that damons finally coming around to help stefan. for a long time, he’s been fighting this battle alone (obviously with the help of elena too in the first season & second).

Halima

People debate constantly on whether or not Damon was right to fix Stefan’s blood diet and completely skip over how fucked the timing was 😭 Stefan was JUST recovering from his last binge and also turning his humanity back on, there couldn’t have been a worse time to experiment ripper-fixing methods. Damon was stupid as hell for that.

Halima

Also, Damon and Stefan are fundamentally different vampires. One drinks human blood by choice, the other is a blood addict. One also feels more empathy for their victims than the other. Damon’s intentions may be pure, but I’m not sure he’s the right teacher here.

Leeann Gouttiere

Being sick is the worst. Hope Corey feels better soon. Regarding Stefan’s blood addiction issues, when he first was turned in 1864, he reveled in the feeding and killing, but he wasn’t biting heads off back then. That may have been the result of almost 50 years of pent up hunger. I think even Damon was shocked at Stefan’s ferocity. Damon probably shouldn’t have walked away from Stefan, but Damon was himself a miserably dour excuse of a vampire back then. He may have been a crappy bitch of a brother, but I am not sure if Damon was even the slightest bit equipped to help Stefan anyway in 1912 as Damon was only starting to work through his own sh-t. He was not responsible for the Ripper of Monterrey, at least not more so than Stefan himself. Props to the show for creating such screwed up characters that are still beloved by so many.

Andrea Dcosta

It's sad soo many ppl here just say that Damon isn't doing right this and that but stop to see Damon loves Stefan more then anyone can and he always wants good for his bro. This is the ultimate bond of the show for Real. No matter who says what Defan for life Haters can hate and try and critise any one of the bros etc who cares.

Andrea Dcosta

Absolutely Right Blake right now this seems a little rough what Damon did but it can definitely have long term benefits after all Damon's heart is in the right place for the goodwill of his brother. I understand where Igli is coming from but I totally agree with Blake here.

Fran

i always really liked that they made the ring have consequences, as something that’s so OP.

Its not that OP seeing as though any creature could simply rip it off the wearers hands, but yeah it was a good little touch

Haley Caldwell

I am like a ripper when it comes to junk food. I am all or nothing. I'd rather just not start..
