“A vampire only bonds to their sire when they have feelings for him, before she turns-human feelings. Vampirism only heightens those emotions.” I love that the witch clarified what we already know. Elena had feelings for damon as a human, way before she became a vampire. Stefan and Caroline were in deep denial that Elena can ever return her feelings for damon, when we clearly saw in season 3 how much their connection grew. Damon has been there for Elena through thick and thin, and that’s the man that she fell in love with.

“I don’t do the right thing. But I have to right by you.” My heart breaks for damon. He’s waited so long for Elena to return her feelings for him, and when it finally happens, the sire bond gets in the way. He has to let her go when he finally had her. Damon just wants to be loved, and now there is doubts in his mind because of the sire bond. Not only that but from everyone else too.

“I mean selflessness is not exactly one of your obvious character traits damon.” Stefan is so wrong about damon most of the time. He just sounds so condescending when he says things like that. Elena is the only one that truly knows him. Damon has shown many moment of selflessness when it comes to elena, and also when it comes to his brother too.

Ok not slut shaming Caroline and in no way excusing how Damon treated Caroline but Elena saying Caroline jumped right into bed with Caroline isn’t false. She did sleep with Damon like the 2nd time she met him lol which again not slut shaming that’s just fact and she wasn’t compelled. Damon never compelled Caroline to sleep with him. He compelled her to forget that he was feeding on her and used her to try to get the necklace from Bonnie but he never compelled her to actually sleep with him.

Small point of clarification regarding Caroline and Damon. The first time she slept with Damon she wasn’t compelled. It wasn’t until the next morning that Damon messed with her mind. Not excusing what Damon did. At all. Just saying that before the fangs came out, Caroline was a willing participant.

Caroline this episode was so annoying, like why is it her business if Elena slept with Damon? And then to almost give it away to Stefan? Like why? She's got great qualities but she can be so judgy and such a busy body it's annoying. Otherwise this was a great episode!
