Halima

The flashbacks in this episode explain why Elijah wasn’t with Klaus and Rebekah in Chicago when they met Stefan in the 20s – that was a cool detail

Halima

Mikael was already abusive to Klaus before finding out he was a bastard so I don’t think that was why he hated him. Rebekah said in TVD S3 that Mikael’s pride was magnified when he became a vampire so I think the main reason why he wanted to kill Klaus was because he was a living reminder of the fact that Esther cheated on him.

Loki

This episode is so good! I feel for Niklaus I really do, and that line about that night being what caused him to lose what he felt was the last shred of his humanity, oh it made me wanna give him a hug. Klaus has been through a lot, and let's be honest Rebekah is always falling in love with everyone, that girl is all rose colored glasses when it comes to men. I love Rebekah, but to me she crossed a huge line when she did what she did by calling Mikael and I don't fault Klaus for feeling the rage he does. I enjoy seeing the flashbacks it helps understand him more. Also it still feels weird to me that she fell for her nephew lol.

falling in love is not a crime. rebekah falls in love and never gets the chance to do anything with said relationship bc klaus intervenes. she never had a chance at anything bc of his over protectiveness.

Loki

It's not a crime, she's had her moments - like with the hunter, they were going to get married, granted he did end up attacking the whole family and Klaus killed him. Stefan - he didn't really intervene with that relationship except when Mikael showed up, and she wanted to run off with him, and Klaus daggered her - which was probably not necessary, but I understand why he did it. Marcel he intervened at first, but then accepted it, like we saw in this episode. The governors son was mean for sure he didn't have to throw him off the balcony like that. Matt - Klaus didn't really do anything to intervene with that relationship at all, and Rebekah spent the whole summer traveling with him, the most he did about Matt was tease her. Also Klaus didn't intervene between Rebekah and Damon and their hook-up either. Klaus didn't really intervene at all after Mikael was killed in TVD imo.

The terrible parent award goes to Mikael!

point is, a lot of klaus’s intervening was not necessary😭

Falling in love is not a crime but we have seen that when Rebecca falls in love, reason and intelligence tend to go out the window. She is blinded by it. And since one of her past loves tried to take out her whole family, I can kind of understand where Klaus comes from when it comes to her. Not saying he is always right, just saying that I get it. These last two episodes were great, they show that if Klaus and Rebecca trusted each other, happiness was within their grasp. Rebecca could have had everything she wanted if she did not call Mikael, but Klaus’s past actions made her feel like she had no choice. It is ironic and tragic and good writing.

i feel like the hunter wasn’t entirely on her when klaus was the one who told her to seduce him in the first place, so i definitely don’t think that is a viable example lol.

Heidi Louise

OK, we can agree to disagree. I have learned that there’s really no point trying to change your mind Cece.

Loki

Totally agree with you Heidi! I just remembered how she got herself attacked by the wolves because she ran off with Ollie in one of the previous episodes. Sometimes she has really bad luck, but it makes me want to say Rebekahhhh please don't go off into the woods with someone you've just met, no matter how attractive he may be lol

Heidi Louise

Ollie is great example. I really love Rebecca, I do, but she obviously longs for love and has made unwise decisions because of it. It makes me feel bad for her. The originals are all damaged because of their parents.

cece

but that’s factual😭 klaus literally forced her to seduce him. there are other examples you could have used lol. and as for ollie, it really is bad luck. is she supposed to automatically believe that bc a hot werewolf introduced himself to her, that a powerful witch who was occupying the body of another witch, was planning out an entire takedown with her siblings included? and im pretty sure she wasn’t “in love”, or falling in love with the man. she just found him hot and they happened to make out with each other. what “wise” decision should she have made regarding this situation, and what would you have done differently i ask?

Loki

But he didn’t force her to seduce him, Rebekah fell in love with Alexander and Klaus took the opportunity to use the situation to learn more about the Brotherhood of the Five. And not only Klaus was interested, but Elijah was too. So he used her to learn more but home girl fell for Alexander the hunter all by herself and honestly can’t blame her - that man was fine. Also Alexander told Rebekah about the cure, remember after he had killed him he made Rebekah tell him what he had told her and that’s when she told him about the cure.

cece

right, slight correction, but regardless, him telling her to do that put her in more danger if anything. she fell in love first but then he acted on that and used her to get more info out of him, and she got daggered for it. and yes he was foine🫦
