🦇🖤 So, just to clarify for y'all, Paul had mental illness, likely schizophrenia hence the phrase "the birds told me", references to him having been sent to an institution where ehe came out of worse than before, the dad making Louis promise him to take care of Paul after his death, and that scene where it looks like Paul is practicing a sermon and it seems as though he's speaking to people that aren't there. The question becomes did he jump because he was compelled or had his illness driven him to that choice. I'm so happy you guys are watching this show, it's incredible. The acting is phenomenal 🙌🏽 can't wait to see what y'all think of the next episodes.

The acting in this show is simply phenomenal, and the accent work too. Jacob Anderson (Louis) has a typical London accent in real life and managed to nail the NOLA accent for this show, and Sam Reid (Lestat) is Australian and also nailed the French accent. So many stars in this cast!

So unbelievably excited that y'all are watching this...this first episode does a fantastic job at showing you how incredible a show it truly is. Also, I was lie screaming at my screen for y'all to recognize Louis' actor Jacob Anderson as Grey Worm from GOT, I'm glad you realized. Game of Thrones has so many great actors, but honestly they didn't get to showcase Jacob's abilities much and he really shines here. I don't know how much you knew about the show going into it, but it was originally a book series that began in the 70s, called the Vampire Chronicles and was written by Anne Rice. There have been 2 movie adaptation of the series, one called Interview with the Vampire (1994) starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt as Lestat and Louis respectively and another called Queen of the Damned (2002) starring the late singer Aaliyah. Both movies have their own charms, but neither conveyed the heart of the story or the characters quite like the show has so far, despite the numerous changes they've made to the source material. Huge credits to the writers for knowing how to adapt a story faithfully, while making it unique enough to stand on its own. Lestat's predatory nature as a vampire, the way his relationship with Louis unfolds, the double story telling of a present day and a past, the overall aesthetic of early 20th century New Orleans...chefs kiss! Can't wait for the next episode.

Holy shit balls I can’t believe you’re watching this show! Literally one of the single most brilliantly written and acted shows out there. It’s not just one of the best vampire shows, but one of the best shows PERIOD! Can’t wait for y’all to watch both seasons and patiently wait for season 3 in 2026! You’ll never look at prestige television the same way again!

It does bother me when heterosexual actors play queer characters

Haley Caldwell

Hot take: The movie is better. I hope you guys consider watching it as well.

Belly

it’s not even close to the show. the show is extremely well done and made. and the movie is…..a movie.

Haley Caldwell

I grew up reading the actual Vampire Chronicles. So, I'm biased I guess.

Arthur Fields

It's only fair. Gay actors have been playing heterosexual characters for decades. But that's a whole nother conversation. 😉

Ian Mossner

That’s not remotely similar in any way

ChinaDoll

@Haley Caldwell I knoww — I grew up watching the movie, so I have a certain love towards it 😭

Antonio

Had to sub for this show. I LOVE this show. First time subscriber here.

Dee
