YESSSSSS

Great reaction 🔥 I've watched this before and I was still tensing up during the interview scene. Although I'm from Northern England and I now have a complex about how often I use the word "pop". I recommend adding "knob" to everyday vocabulary - very satisfying insult and can be improved by adding "end"

This is a heavy one, but I think it's necessary, especially with the timing of so many real-world events. They did a great job casting a young, cute little boy and making people ask "wtf?" when it turns out he's on tape stabbing a girl to death. This show just swept at the Emmys in September. Consider this show not a "who done it?" but it asks the question "Why?" Asking about how Jamie feels about women is relative to the situation and not bizarre, especially with the type of content he was sharing on his Instagram and the aggressive comments he made about them. They were trying to connect how he talks about women to the crime he was being accused of.

“Why does he have a knife?” that’s the UK for you! lol

The show’s more of a whydunnit than a whodunnit, that’s why they get the CCTV of Jamie killing Katie out of the way in ep 1. They don’t want you questioning who did it, the question is what led a 13 year old boy to commit such a violent crime? It’s inspired by similar cases that have taken place recently in the UK.

It’s not really uncommon for kids in secondary school (13 and up) to be out until 10PM, at least in the UK. Especially in the summer when it doesn’t get dark until after 10PM, sometimes you see them loitering about in their uniforms well past evening. It’s not right, but it happens.

Halima

surprised you guys didn’t recognise the solicitor Paul as Grenn from Game of Thrones (Jon’s pal from the nights watch)

briana

I'm American but I live in New York City... kids walk around all the time at night. That kind of comes with a culture of not being car-dependent and growing up in towns gutted by interstates and highways lmao. Also in the UK they don’t have to worry about maniacs popping up trying to shoot everyone which makes things significantly safer. It’s obviously not perfect but guns and driving not being factors add to the culture.

Omg I knew he looked familiar 😂, thank you for pointing that out

briana

omg I didn't recognize him either. I knew he looked familiar but I couldn't tell from where.

I believe the "knob" insult is equal to dickhead. Thanks to everyone who pointed out Grenn and Waif from GOT. During the cornflake conversation, I think the reason the dad didn't show affection was because he noticed the bruises / blood on his son's arm. He began to doubt his innocence. Some things I noticed: 1) They used all that force to bust in to the home, making it look like the suspect is very dangerous, yet they never put him in handcuffs on the way to the police station. That doesn't happen in America. 2) They offered to pay for any damages done to the home.

Arthur Fields

Do they like the fact that it doesn't get dark until after 10PM? Do they look forward to it and say things like SUMMER IS COMING? 🌞

briana

Good catch on the dad noticing the defensive wounds on Jamie's arm. I must have overlooked that but I could still tell that he was questioning his son's innocence.

Since you enjoy the continuous shots, I highly recommend you watch "Victoria" (2015), a German art house thriller/heist movie (largely in English), which is one of the few feature films shot in a single continuous take! It's really gripping and immersive.
