Man I hope y'all like this ... about to watch the reaction now, I've been looking forward to it ever since you announced it a few weeks ago. This is one of my top 5 favorite comfort movies of all time.

I loooooove this movie and book so much. I can watch pretty much any Jane Austen adaptation. She’s a big reason the Regency Era is so popular in historical romance genres aka Bridgerton.

So at the part when Lizzie and her aunt and uncle pull up to Darcy's house and she laughs, Igly says, "What's funny?" The situation Lizzie's in is very similar to what Charlotte had described earlier in the movie - she's got no money and no prospects. When her father dies, she's going to have to find somewhere to live and get a job (probably as a governess for a rich family, or maybe a seamstress or something similar). She's not in a good/safe position at all, and the only two men who have proposed to her, she has rejected. Now she pulls up in front of Darcy's house and he is the equivalent of a multimillionaire in today's standards, with a palatial family estate that makes your jaw drop when you see it. At that point, she also had 4 unmarried sisters with no prospects - Mr. Darcy is so rich, she not only could have saved herself by marrying him, but she would have had enough money to save all of her sisters from destitution as well. But she said no to him (due to many reasons which we saw, but mostly due to hurt feelings and misunderstandings) and now she's standing in front of his mansion thinking she could be homeless at any moment and if she had just said yes to him, this *palace* would be her home. It is such a ridiculous situation, its laughable.
