You all should definitely keep watching after season 5! Some of my favorite storylines of the entire show happen after season 5!

I can't say whether or not John is in heaven, but I can say that he did not go back to hell. Season 3 is a shortened season, because there was a writer's strike that happened during this season. In fact, both Jensen and Jared played in horror movies during the strike and Jensen played in A Few Good Men in theater. Jensen was in a remake of My Bloody Valentine and Jared was in a remake of the original Friday The 13th. I always advise people to watch the first five seasons and if they want to continue then do so. However, try to watch the 5th season as though it were the last. Kripke's story ends with the 5th season finale. He created the show and was show runner, but stepped down after the 5th season.

You should definitely watch past season 5. I think the first 5 seasons are great but I feel like some ppl downplay future seasons. There are so many amazing and interesting plot points that happen in future seasons. That’s just my opinion. I get the criticism that it gets for some future seasons. I just wanted to say that bc I don’t want them going into future seasons being a little biased thinking the rest of the show is down hill after season 5. Clearly the fandom only grew larger after season 5. And I get that, Also some ppl just don’t like shows having a lot of seasons especially if it wasn’t planned from the start. And bc there are so many seasons left with some ups and downs some ppl I guess would have preferred just 5 seasons. So I get that, I just disagree with the idea that only the first 5 seasons are the best and the rest down hill, Which is just not true. I get criticism but clearly ppl still enjoyed watching Supernatual after season 5 and got even more popular afterwards and some probably liked future seasons more. I’ve seen shows that drag on for seasons and are objectively bad seasons and viewer ship going down even with big fandoms. That did not happen with supernatural immediately after seasons 5,6,7 etc. So even if some ppl stopped watching supernatural later on it was clearly not bc most realized that season 6 onward was a different director. A few years back no one really new that the directors even changed and at the time ppl considered future seasons of Supernatual Peak. There are so many seasons past 5 that were highly rated. It’s weird that all of a sudden in recent years, Some ppl are telling reactors to not even react to seasons after season 5 and saying it doesn’t get better then season 5. Which is crazy. Bc many seasons after season 5 were highly rated and I remember in general ppl liking future seasons. At the time way less ppl even knew the directors changed and I don’t think anyone noticed. And even if they did it wasn’t as talked about. I think ever since the Boys came out more ppl have noticed that he created the first 5 seasons and then stopped. But trust me. At the time ppl did not notice. I’m not saying all future seasons are perfect but at the time the general public did not consider seasons 5 peak Supernatual. I would say around season 8 was what ppl considered its peak. I don’t think most ppl watching supernatural at the time even new the directors changed so I think later on when more ppl new about it is when ppl started saying only the first 5 seasons are good and the rest downhill. But truly future seasons are amazing and some I like more then season 4,5 personally. There are literally higher rated episodes and seasons besides the first 5. I couldn’t even tell at the time that it was directed by someone else. Personally my fav seasons are 4,5,6,8,9,11. 💕.

All 15 seasons are worth it for one’s first SPN watch through journey!! The best acting and best characters are after season 5. SPN is like a trilogy in one series!! Also season 3 is shorter due to the writers strike that was going on at the time. The writers strike doesn’t impact the main story this season in my opinion, it actually works really well with it surprisingly!

I wonder if one of the reasons Dean isn't concerned about going to hell is because he's hoping to see his father there. Remember, Dean doesn't believe in angels, God or heaven, so he probably doesn't think his dad went there after killing yellow eyes.

Great start to S3! The reason S3 is shorter than the other seasons is due to the the 2007 Writers strike.
