Minh, I know that you're trying to be a good friend, but really, that was kind of inconsiderate of you. You knew that Bao had just confessed to you about wanting to be more than friends, and you rejected him, so it would make sense that Bao would definitely avoid you. Please give him some space for now. The cool thing though is that Bao's still being honest with Minh. He still answered his questions, and was still honest about why he was avoiding Minh. They're still communicating in a way (especially Bao!) he just needs the space right now to process his feelings. I hope the day comes that they actually get to talk about everything, especially Minh. Minh needs to be honest with Bao. While it's understandable that he's hesitant right now considering that he just said that he's afraid to take risks due to everything that just happened, I hope he still comes around. Great work as always! Thanks for the wonderful update!

I feel really bad for Minh. He is dealing with not 1, not 2, but 3 struggles: his family finances and mom’s health, the broken dream of his father and his own sense of purpose, and how his relationship with Bao is starting to sink. I feel bad for Bao, because he opened up, bared his heart, became vulnerable, and then got rejected without understanding why. Feeling gaslighted does not help. And losing his only good friend at the same time must really hurt. This story is phenomenal. Kudos to the author for achieving this.

I agree it might be inconsiderate. But he does just want some level of reassurance that he didn't just lose his closest friend during some of the hardest times in his life. It is hard when people switch up like that. Like without knowing Mihn's inner thoughts, all we would know is that he set a boundary in their relationship. And while that sucks hard for Bao a "We are still friends, but I need some time alone to cool off from last night. Cause I feel hurt right now." would go along way. That said, I understand where you are coming from and they are just kids, so I don't expect them to have experience in this kind of thing.
