Great reaction! Also like Patreon video alot! Saves my view and easy UI. Miklagard (the Old Norse name of Constantinople), implying that he was a member of the Byzantine Varangian Guard - an elite unite of bodyguards employed by the Byzantine Emperors (google). In other words, Snake was a badass

I think Snake beats old Askeladd, but prime Askeladd is probably top 3 strongest in the story

Snake beats Prime Askeladd. He was part of the Varangian guard. that is so much more than the jomsvikings even. We know snake is quicker than thorfinn even.

to add onto this they werent just a regular bodyguard group. They were the vikings/norsemen/kievan vikings who were so impressive the Byzantine emperor made them bodyguards serving directly him. It was also because bringing in these random foreign bodyguards who had no political connection to the empire and this way would remain directly loyal to the emperor. They were formed under the emperor who rules byzantine in the shows time Basil the 2nd. They ended with the fall of constantinople.

The very first scene in this new season was also Gardar, they showed the same clip with him raising his sword after the duel and wiping the blood on Hjaltis face.
