Queer Coded Horror At Its Best - THE LOST BOYS!!! (Patreon)

While not explicitly queer, this film definitely has some strong queer coding within it. Starting with the director (Joel Schumacher) who was profoundly gay. Second, Corey Haim (RIP Corey!) character of Sam is rather queer coded in that he has a very high sense of fashion (and he's supposed to be from Phoenix, AZ --- not necessarily the bastion of fashion during the 1980s... or any decade for that matter). Say nothing of the suggestive poster of sexy heartthrob ROB LOWE sexily showing of his lower abs on the closet door in Sam's room. And lastly, with the exception of David's (Keifer Sutherland) sole relationship (rather dismissive at that) with the single girl of the LOST BOYS (the Tiger Lily of this horrific Peter Pan crew) none of the other Boys have any apparent interest in girls at all. A definite queer touch from the director himself. And we won't even bring up all the raw sex appeal of Jason Patric that had the gays all a-flutter when the film dropped back in the day.

Anywho, this is one of Baz's MUST-SEE films every Halloween season - and now, it just might become Alberts as well.

Enjoy!
