Tree of the Lake (Moodity) (Patreon)

Happy Sunday! So, I'd had this idea mulling around in my head for the better of of the last two weeks, and it involved a scenery piece involving Cypress and an extremely large tree. 😂

The idea was a little different that what I ended up with here though, in that the composition was originally a much closer lower angle view of Cypress, with the scale of the tree being show around him in the background. Also, the tree wasn't meant to be as grant as it's depicted here. However as I was working on the tree, I'd decided to change it up to have the focus on the tree instead of Cypress. The main reason for that change is that I'd decided that this could be a great opportunity to have an environmental piece rather than another Character-focused one. I'm glad I made that decision in the end 😂

Also the tree was based on some of those really gnarled looking Cypress trees found on mountain tops, as well as bonsais some trees 👍
