Morning Chill - Speed Painting
Another Cypress piece from a while ago. At about the halfway point in the painting process, I realized that I wasn't liking how the rendering was turning out. I felt that the forms were becoming too smooth and I was losing the edges that I like in my pieces so that they have that sculptural feel. So I made the decision to restart at the colour phase, and re render everything. It was a good decision, because I liked it much better the second time around, and made sure to keep those edges in mind while working through it again.
Moral of the story, don't be afraid to restart or try a piece out more than one time. Everything we do is a learning process and "failure" is just a natural part of it. 👍
