100 Days of Ukulele 2024 Final events 🎉

Check out this awesome 100 Days Collab Video for All My Loving. Congrats to all who participated, and bravo Owen for a great edit!

JOIN US for a 100 Days of Ukulele project celebration on Day 100! This Saturday is Day 100, and we'll get together on Zoom to chat and share stories. Link will be posted here and in the FB 100 Days group and the IG @clukesquad channel.

💯 Get your 100 Days 2024 TEE SHIRT or other merch: New shirt designs from artist Dan Funderburgh (who has been designing our shirt for several years) are available in Community Manager Jenny's Redbubble store (see the FAQ for details)

2024 Participant Showcase Video Submissions: I love the end of project showcase, check out our 2023 showcase if you haven't seen it. Details on submission have been posted in the FB group and will be posted on Patreon soon.

Patreon 10-year Anniversary Party 2025!

The dates are set to celebrate the CL Patreon Community's 10th Anniversary: please save the date for Patrons Weekend in Hawaii, March 15-16, 2025! Have you filled out the Hawaii 2025 Interest Form? See last month's newsletter post for more on my idea for a Patreon anniversary celebration in Hawaii!

If you're interested in Craig and Sarah's retreat, be sure to sign up for the mailing list. They are opening up a second block of rooms and registrations after their first cap was sold out.

Anniversary events include a jam, a Patrons mixer, and a sunset boat cruise. I suggest getting in on Friday the 14th or before, so that you can recover from travel before the festivities begin!

✈️ CL TOUR NOTES

MUD Videos: Did you get good video from our Mighty Uke Day Jam? Please upload here if you did, thank you! I'd like to cut together a compilation of the weekend and need more footage!

Prep for 2024 Uke-splosion in SF: Ukulenny and I will be in San Francisco June 29th for this year's SF Uke Jam at the annual Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, get all the details here . Music events are from noon to 3. If you're attending, plan to come to the front of the stage for a group jam on Stand By Me at the end of the show. And stick around for a group recording of "Losing My Religion" after the show. I'll create a dedicated post for this event soon.

Next up: August 8 at Blue Note Hawaii, September 14 in Brighton, Colorado

June 2024 Community Reminders

🌈 Monthly Live Lesson: The May 2024 Patreon Live Lesson for "Just Like Heaven" is now available to all Patrons ($1+).

🖥️ Zoom Social changes: Going forward we'll have just one lesson Zoom Social monthly, before the Live Lesson. This won't affect "special occasion" hangouts like the one I'm planning for Day 100 (see above).

📌📣 Community Bulletin Board via comments: Feel free to use the comments section in this monthly check-in as a Bulletin Board for all things uke or Patreon.  Events, announcements, invitations, questions, requests, suggestions -- all are fair game.  We can also use the Chats in the Patreon App, and I'm open to using them for discussion in any way that benefits Patrons.

May 2024 Recap - News, Patron Events and New Videos

• In our Mindful Beginner Songbook Jam  ($10+ Patrons), we played "Island in the Sun" + "Friday I'm in Love" + "Tainted Love"

• For the Live Lesson ($5+ Patrons, now available to all levels), we worked on the chord melody with strumming in my arrangement of "Just Like Heaven."

• For the Intermediate Level-Up Jam ($20+ Patrons), I built on our Live Lesson and taught an introducation on how to transcribe/notate chord melody for yourself, using "Just Like Heaven" as an example.

• Voice students ($30+ Patrons) met on three Tuesdays in May.

• Community Manager Jenny hosted a "Day 75" Zoom Social for Patrons and 100 Days of Ukulele 2024 participants.

If you're new, I invite you to take some time to get to know the platform - there's a lot here, and it may take a while to navigate the many lessons and posts.  The community WelcomeGuide/FAQ post is a good place to start.

To find a specific song or lesson, learn to use the updated Cynthia Lin Song Index.  Thank you to the Community Managers for creating and maintaining this helpful resource.

Please introduce yourself in the comments: I'd love to hear how long you've been playing, what kind of uke you play, if you have a group to play with, what songs you've been working on, or anything else you'd like to share.

If you have questions about Patreon, I encourage you to post your questions in the comments below or to one of our Community groups. Our community has tons of friendly folks who love sharing their uke experience. Join our Patron-only Facebook group (be sure to answer BOTH membership questions).
