May 2017 vote winner: Moonshadow (Patreon)

aloha Patrons!

the votes are in and we have a winner!  we'll work on Moonshadow for this month's Chord Chart, Live Lesson and tutorial - and boy, i've definitely got my work cut out for me with this song.  my goal is to capture the beauty of the fingerpicking but still make the tutorial accessible to most people - it's a worthy teaching challenge, as i do love this song (and the Patrons never disappoint with their song choices.  by the way, the Sound of Silence tutorial has quickly established itself as one of my most watched videos - and I would not have taught it if not for the Patrons!)

thanks to everyone who voted - click here for the voting results  .  some of the top up-voted request songs are I Will, Landslide, and Wicked Game - and i'll include them in next month's poll choices.  your up-votes definitely make a difference. :)

LIVE LESSON next Wed 5/17

every month I teach the vote-winning song in a Live Lesson for $5+ Patrons as practice for creating the tutorial.  (I'm actually going to teach this in the Advanced Beginner class too, to help gauge the difficulty level of the arrangement).

the Live Lesson for Moonshadow will be next Wednesday 5/17 at 4:30pm PDT, details coming in a separate post.  we usually have Live Lesson on the 2nd Thursday of the month but I will be traveling this week. (please remember that all Live events can be watched after the fact at any time using the same link, so you do not have to watch live)

i'll post the Chord Chart for $3+ Patrons as soon as it's ready!

JOIN THE FORUM - CHECK OUR PATREON EVENTS CALENDAR

thanks to our Community Manager Richard, we have our own forum !  there are lots of discussion topics, sharing of chord charts and videos, and a welcoming group of moderators (thank you Leah, Christina, and Eric!) who can help guide you in all things ukulele.  plus, there's a calendar for Patron events.  if you're ever unsure as to when we're having a jam or live lesson, check here: http://cynthialin.patreonforums.com/calendar.php

i also encourage you to share your uke story - in my experience, it seems everyone has one. :)  we'd love to hear it.

more soon, happy strumming!
