new video + chord chart: "Birds of a Feather" (Billie Eilish) play-along (Patreon)

{Public post}

Aloha, Patrons!

I have been digging this song with a beginner-friendly island strum, and I taught this song for last month's Mindful Beginner Jam. Now here's a play-along for everyone to jam to, and if you watch to the end, you'll get a healthy dose of my kitty Mochi. 😻

This chord chart is free to all, thanks to the support of all my wonderful Patrons! See the bottom of this post for the pdf.

If you're not yet a Patreon, consider joining us! I have maintained a $1 pay-what-you-can community tier because I want to keep my lessons accessible. All Patrons (pay what you can, $1+) have access to a deep archive of Patron-only monthly live lessons going back to 2017, and whenever I release a video, I make the chord chart available to the public on a donation basis / pay-what-you-can.

NEW: Buy the Full Lesson for "Birds of a Feather"

I taught the full lesson for "Birds of a Feather" in our January 2025 Mindful Beginner Jam. Recently, Patreon added a new option to buy a single post only, so now we have a couple of ways to access this lesson.

Buy the Single Lesson: This is a new feature, so if folks like it, I can offer more lessons as single purchases. If you're not sure yet about becoming a $10+ Patron, you can purchase access to the individual lesson post. You'll get a beginner-friendly, in-depth tutorial on this song and the chucking island strum.  I love working on mindful basics! The post also comes with our 50-song Beginner Jam Songbook. Are there other songs you'd like to purchase as a single lesson? Let me know in the comments!

Join Patreon for Archive + Live Lesson Access: All $10+ Patrons have access to this lesson, this month's Live Lesson and Mindful Beginner Jam, plus the archives of all our monthly Live Lessons and Mindful Beginner Jams (hundreds of lessons!). You can also try out the $10 tier for a month, explore the content, and then change your tier at the end of the month. Come check it out!

Patrons, see you on Thursday February 13th at 2:30pm Hawaii Time for this month's Mindful Beginner Jam, and on Thursday February 20th at 2:30pm Hawaii Time for this month's All -Levels Live Lesson. We'll also have a Zoom Social starting 30 minutes before the Live Lesson, and we'll discuss this year's 100 Days of Ukulele Project which begins on March 1st. See our full monthly calendar here.

Hope to see you there! You can edit your subscription tier here if you'd like to upgrade your tier (and you can always change it back as well!).
