Aloha Patrons!

Thanks for your patience - here's the Here, There and Everywhere tutorial, our August 2017 vote winner. It's intermediate level and a lot to take on at once, so I suggest learning it in steps - chords first, then rock strum, then picking.  Enjoy!

I'm thrilled that I got to meet so many of you in NY, LA, and at SF Uke-tober Fest.  Now that I'm back from tour, I'm excited to write some posts about those experiences, and about community building and growing more uke squads across the world.  It's humbling to see the power of the little ukulele!

Tutorial video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgAydTHDOTs- please share, like, comment, and help me spread the word!

I've reformatted the chord chart since the August Live Lesson and attached it here for your convenience (also available at Gumroad), so you may want to download the latest version.

enjoy!

xo cynthia.

Thank you Cynthia. :-)

Cynthia, I just did a run through of this, and I have to say this is my favorite song you've done ever. I wanted to put a quick note in on the intermediate/beginner debate :) I started with you 2 weeks before last Xmas, after getting my first uke in the mail, and your beginner series is awesome. I was no longer a beginner after taking a month or two to master the lessons. I believe that beginners if they want to can easily get to intermediate with what you've already created, while getting to true proficiency from intermediate takes a lot more work, dedication and most important: inspiration. I love that you give beginner alternatives but I hope that you continue to support your growing players with more difficult stuff: these will be an attainable challenge to even those beginners eventually, but too simple versions are of little use ever to those higher level players (that you have created!) When I started you had just put out Blackbird which wasn't a possibility for me. But it got me psyched to learn more so I could play it. And guess what, by April I could play it. :) Thank you keep up the awesome work xo.

I think the multi-level teaching approach is perfect! Remember--new students are joining every day--the tutorials didn't start with one person's sign-on. This way the music is accessible to everyone. I think as you gain skills you are more apt to branch out and try new and more challenging things, and nothing stops you from that. But newbies could easily become discouraged by lessons that are too difficult.

Love the variations you offer, and your arrangement of this is gorgeous. Thank you! You will always have beginners, and I appreciate how mindful you are of that (I was one starting in April), but I also appreciate how you work to challenge advanced beginners and intermediate players, too. I never mind playing the "easier" stuff, though, and the challenges are great, too. It's all fun for me!

I think seeing some success stories by way of video examples of advanced students would be great inspiration and motivation for newbies to keep at it! I'd love to see videos of other Patreon's playing Blackbird, for example!
