having come from an acoustic 6 string guitar fingerpicking background, i'm always looking for ways to change up what my fingers tend to naturally do in order to give some variation in the way i play. i appreciated this lesson for that reason. one thing that i might urge some of your more int/adv players to consider is changing up the alternating thumb on the G and C strings so that your first note on each measure is the root note of the chord rather than always being on the G string. for example, when the measure is C, hit the C string first. when on the D chord, hit the C string that is fretted on the 2nd fret (the D note) first. this is a sound that my ear has become accustomed to. where my ear in particular prefers this is the G to Em transition, where I hit the C string fretted at the 4th fret (the E note) at the start of the measure. if I don't do that, you are several notes into the measure before you hear the chord change. this technique will take some practice to coordinate, but my ear finds it preferable. (also, i try to do all i can to make my instrument sound as good as it can to compensate for my awful singing! lol) thoughts?

I love being able to go back through the live lessons -since I'm just a little behind on getting them down! This is great and I will be using the bouncing bass line strum on L.O.V.E from your winter '19 class too - thank you for your intentionality with technique in these songs and being such an amazing teacher - so many little tips for all levels - transitioning between chords, amazing chord arrangements - you are Awesome and inspiring!! You are such a passionate, compassionate teacher, too! I'm excited for our class tonight "Til There was You" - like a kid in a candy jar!!

I felt asleep zzzzzzz - Watch it now, and it is a doable lesson of a great song - thanks for the arrangement, love the beginner picking (i will add, intermediate picking later this year) - LOVE IT <3

It was great to hear you say bouncing the thumb was valid (even though I know, whatever works). I found that a much easier way to pick this pattern than using my index on 2.

Seriously, this is why I love you. I keep flattering you but I keep being so happy with the tutorials! You gave a great variety of levels from beginner to advanced...thank you..... I love that you gave us such a hard finger picking pattern. Nope, I don't have it yet either.... but I'm sooo close. I don't totally have it yet. But, I appreciate having something to work towards. That time signature is hard (similar to Here, There, and Every Where.....) and I need lots of reason to practice my ear out! thanks for singing so much too.... it helps me learn when to sing, especially with hard Paul Simon stuff. And yes, you made this and all your tutorials MORE than just a bunch of chords to sound like the song. You really do the songs justice to the song and songwriter. AND.... that's why people love you! Great job! I have so much to work on after being gone for awhile! thanks thanks thanks. And yes.... I LOVE these songs. But I'd love to vary the decades of the songs too. (True Colors in the style of Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick I hope!!)
