Aloha Patrons!

This winter, I'm offering a 6-week Class series that you can take in person in San Francisco or virtually online. My students have been requesting this class, and I'm happy to bring it back. The 6-week format is really great for building your skills and getting that extra push to level up.

This will be my only SF class this year, and there are only 40 spots in the class so please sign up soon. You can also take this class virtually via livestream, and all classes will be recorded to review at your convenience. The virtual classes are very similar to my monthly Live Lessons, except that I'll direct the teaching towards my in-person class. My trusted online class moderators will monitor the live chat and help answer questions during class when I'm busy teaching. All classes will be recorded to review at your convenience.

See all of my class videos for a taste of what class would be like. :)

Just Like Heaven // Cynthia Lin's Advanced Beginner Ukulele class

Here's my May 2016 Advanced Beginner Uke class (on video for the first time!). For the last class in our 6-week session, I brought them a lesson in Chord-Melody using Just Like Heaven by The Cure (a tutorial is coming soon, as voted on by the Patrons!) and they rocked it. Please like and comment and let them know how awesome they are! Join Patreon at the $10 level to get a sneak peek at the recorded live broadcast of this specific class: http://patreon.com/cynthialin Advanced Beginner is a mixed level class where I offer different levels of challenges and the students work at the level that they need. For students who are just coming from Beginner class, I start with introducing the concept of using tab while strumming. For the players who have been in Advanced Beginner for a few sessions, I break down the more rhythmic challenges in the melody line. I’m thinking of joining the online sessions.

David Dong

How is parking during the days of the classes?

Jessica Heyes

I would like to join virtually but can't tune in at that time on Tuesday. Is it possible to view it at another time?

Cynthia Lin

hi jim, you can click through on the signup and info link. class is $150 in person, and $75 for virtual

Cathy Duffin

If I join virtually can I ask questions later for you to answer at maybe the next class? I cannot make Tuesday nights :( But see I can view later.

Lee Ann Wood

I just signed up for the virtual class. I took two of these classes online last year and loved them. I usually watched the recorded version after the fact. As always, Cynthia is the best ukulele instructor and I always learn something new from her. Well worth the money!!

darlene herman

I have been taking lessons from you two years now. I never found out how to connect with your classes on line. I pay $5 a month . I'm still watching and learning. I can't afford your virtual classes. I am still with your you tube classes. Darlene

Cynthia Lin

that's a great suggestion - i will figure out how best to collect questions from virtual students, and can definitely address them. thanks!

Deborah Walker

I just signed up to attend virtually. I participated in several sessions before and felt that my playing really improved. I enjoyed your song choices and clear teaching style. And it is wonderful to have the recordings especially for those of us on different time zones. Looking forward to the new class!

Catherine Mayr

Catherine Mayr here, I signed up for the virtual class I can't wait!

Andrew Ranson

Hi Cynthia, I live overseas, so it's difficult for me to be available for a livestream because of the time difference. Is it possible to have access to videos of the lessons asynchronously? - Andrew

Catherine Mayr

I am one of those quiet lurkers in your live classes :)

Edgar Morano

Just signed up for virtual class. I have learned so much from your online lessons and jam sessions. So looking forward to class.

Holly Soptick

I am excited to sign up for the virtual class!

Greg Crandall

G’Day Cynthia, I just signed up for a virtual spot. Thank you for all you do for us!

Jess Chen

Last year's virtual class was one of the highlights of my ukulele year! I signed up again for this round. Can't wait.

Janice Lee

Just registered for the virtual class!

Mary Geary

Does the 40-limit class size include virtual members or is there no limit on the number of virtual members who can sign up? Thank you.

Sugar .

Hi Cynthia, the classes last year were fantastic, and really helped move my playing on! The song choices were also really fun. Looking back over those recorded classes though I don't think they would be challenging enough for me now. Will this year's songs and arrangements be similar to last year's? I really want to sign up but also not sure if it's the right level for me. Any plan to do intermediate - advanced classes?! Thanks PS. I would highly recommend the online classes!!

Sugar .

Last year I remember that there wasn't a limit for virtual students

Terrina Fairbrother

Ooh I like the sound of this! I think I might do it but will have to watch the lessons later!!

Mary Geary

Signed up virtually! Yay!

Adriana Yon

I signed up for the virtual classes. I'm looking forward to it!

Kris Lukauskis

Signed up virtually!!! I'm hoping these will be saved as I'd like to keep my sanity during my maternity leave in mid-March!! Great job Cynthia!

Wendy Kriegel

I'm in for the virtual class - I'd love to learn a song from the Sleepless in Seattle soundtrack - a wink and a smile, make someone happy, a kiss to build a dream on etc......

Angela Wiwczor

I almost missed this! I love the online option! The lessons being available later is wonderful, as 12 shift work prevents me from taking traditional lessons. Signing up!

Jenny Selig

Will, I encourage you to check out the handy time zone conversion chart. (just kidding, but there is one) ;)

Jenny Selig

Becky, you can get the chart in this Pattern post. https://www.patreon.com/posts/chord-chart-21662851?utm_medium=post_notification_email&utm_source=post_link&utm_campaign=patron_engagement&token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJyZWRpc19rZXkiOiJpbnN0YW50LWFjY2VzczozODQ1Y2RjYy0xZGViLTQ5MzktOGMzYS0zMDlmMzBiODczYTAifQ.1pruMKC7TC4QtYmqbiaC47nOBpEDbq7jRcGm0dlWyAY

I know. I’m just being silly. Blame it on the anesthesia

Marion Tor

I missed signing up! Any chance I can join in now. I would be joining online participation.

Marion Tor

Great! Just signed up. Thank you!

Trish Dyball

Loved the first lesson Cynthia. I think the timing is right for me to be part of these intensive lessons. Thank you.

Terrina Fairbrother

Is it too late to sign up for this?? I'm back online properly now, but will only be able to do the lessons offline due to work and travel. It sounds fantastic!!

Cynthia Lin

hi terrina! you can still sign up, and we’ll send you the first 2 weeks’ lessons to catch up

Cynthia Lin

hey sugar! great question. my goal is to provide challenging optional variations for more advanced players - you're always welcome to ask for something more challenging as well. plus, once you are more advanced, i'd suggest you take the given chart and try to expand with your own musical expression - we can talk about ways to study that together, perhaps through the Patreon Intermediate Live Jam.

Ann Rodriguez

I just signed up, and it looks like I have some work to do to catch up! #upforachallenge

Mary McCann

Is it also possible to sign up for last years classes?

Laura Smith

I am really interested in the virtual class but haven't been able to swing the tuition just yet. How long will it be available to sign up? I keep checking back to make sure it hasn't been closed yet!! Thanks.

dave

Hello Cynthia . I have been trying to find a way to message you and looks like I have found a way. I hope its ok to message here but I cant find anywhere else. I am 66 yrs old and not great on internet, but I took your first lesson on youtube yesterday which was thrilling. I learnt how to hold and use a ukulele and play chord C with my ring finger. I eagerly went to lesson 2 next day after going over lesson 1 three times. That's when I got confused. You began by asking me to do several chords I didn't know existed.... please help. How could I play a chord with you if you haven't taught me how to put my fingers where on the ukulele? Its probably my age so apologies if you have a system I should have picked up on to learn the chords before lesson no 2. Sorry
