Aloha Patrons!  

A warm welcome to the many new Patrons who've just joined us. Please see the bottom of this post for tips on joining our private facebook group (best place to get support and ask questions) and other Patron communities.

Our March 2019 song poll winner is "Fire and Rain" by James Taylor.  I appreciate this song for many reasons, primarily for the strength of the songwriting.  In the video above, with just guitar and vocals, James Taylor delivers the holy grail for singer/songwriters - a moving story, a chorus that's easy to remember and sing back, and a melodic instrumental to carry the song.  I enjoyed working on capturing all of this in my arrangement and look forward to sharing it with you all.

About the Song of the Month

For each of our monthly song vote winners, I teach a Live Lesson for $5+ Patrons and post a Patron-only chord chart for $3+ Patrons. I then create a Patron-supported Play-Along to share on YouTube. As a new patron, I am having a hard time understanding how to navigate. Can everyone learn her "Fire and Rain" or only the higher tier patrons? It also says to suggest next song, but where do I go to make a suggestion? A list of "How To's" would be useful.

Hi Karen, I've sent you a pm on Facebook. If you ask these questions on the FB group you'll get a lot of help, I can help with your questions too and send screenshots of what I'm talking about. The monthly voting happens at a specific time each month, you'll get an email when it's posted. You can then vote for as many of the suggestions as you want and make a suggestion in the comments. The winning vote is then posted as the live lesson about a week or so later. If you're $5 and above you can access the vote and monthly live lesson s. You can also go back and access previous ones. On the FB group is a spreadsheet with links to the different things (live lessons, beginner jam, intermediate jam etc). Look out for my pm!
