A quick note about this Work-in-Progress chord chart

Take a look at the chord chart below, and you'll see it has a lot of chords and a lot of tab.  It looks complicated and perhaps a bit intimidating, but please don't freak out yet.  I put a lot of work into this arrangement to make sure that it captures the original song, and gives beginners something achievable, as well as providing intermediates a challenge.  The chart is a Work-in-Progress (WIP) because I will take your feedback in the Live Lesson to shape the final arrangement.  Please do not share chord charts until they are officially published on my Gumroad, because I like to make sure that the arrangement is solidified - thanks!

This is a touching song, and beautifully written, and I really wanted to do it justice with this arrangement.  I'll talk tomorrow about the important elements that make the song special.

It was an incredible lesson. Appreciate the joy you have brought into my life through ukulele.

Katarzyna Iwańska

Hi! What do you mean exactly when you talk about playing on low G? Does it require a special instrument or a set of strings, or is it just a matter of tuning?

Jenny Selig

Hi! The G string specifically can be low or high -- two different strings. You can buy them individually or as a "low G" or "high G" set, but CEA stay the same. You can't tune a Low G set "high G" without breaking the string, and a "high G" string would lose tension and sound terrible if you tried to loosen it to the point of "low G." Hope this helps! :)

Sherrie Porter

Thank you Cynthia! I really appreciate the work you put into making one song accessible to all levels. I Love that I can "grow into" a song. xxoo

CH Wan

This song looks fun. There's something for all levels. Thanks you Cynthia!

Valerie Hart

I can’t open the chord chart. Never had a problem before

Carol Q

Thank you! It is amazing how you are able to create an arrangement at our level(s) that maintains the essence of a song. I am excited to learn this sad, yet beautiful piece of music.

Mark Pierce

Cynthia - love the arrangement. Just played through the song. Nicely done. Looking forward to the lesson tonight!

Cynthia Lin

Hi folks, if you're having issues with opening the chord chart, try adding a .pdf extension to the file. Some computers are opening the file without it and then can't read the file. Thanks!

Richard Kimball

I was playing through this last night and it was terrific! Looking forward to the live lesson.

Maggie

Thanks for your hard work with this!!! Multi-level arrangements and keeps with the original feel? This is why we love you.

Christine Martin

I’m really happy you are circling back to previous month’s lesson at the beginning. I feel like I’m constantly starting new songs without really getting a handle on old ones. This is very useful to me.

Tori Moo

Adore this arrangement. Enjoying the challenge of the riff – starting to get this now! Thanks Cynthia <3

Tori Moo

Just got to the end of the tutorial and now I wanna learn the hammer! Sounds amazing :D

Cynthia Lin

thanks! it's what i would do in my weekly classes, and i feel it encourages practicing after the lesson is over - it's a good way to see which skills you picked up, and which you still have to work on. :)

Lorraine Muise

No PDF option on my iPad 😣, can’t get chord charts😢

Lynn Haney

Great class!!!! Loved it! Can’t wait for tomorrow’s Intermediate class! Hopefully we can cover the bridge too lol

Christine Sample

This is beautiful! Thank you Cynthia! This will help push me to the next level!

Ellen Black

Beautiful ! wonderful class. I missed the intermediate jam. Though a beginner would like to see it if possible. Is there a video?

Ellen Black

Also wanted to say love when it is written out in TAB. thank you

Adam Li

Hello, may I ask what uku you use in this video? is it seems to be you 'main' uku?

Cynthia Lin

hi adam! yes, this is the Cynthia Lin Signature Performance Ukulele - model CK-35CG-CL from Ohana Ukuleles. solid mahogany, with all my customized features. Ohana has just restocked it in the last couple of days after being sold out for a few months, so you can look for it online and pre-order with any Ohana dealer. :)

Leah Waarvik

Hi, I'm kind of new here. Wondering if anyone could point me to a tutorial to read the "hammer and pull" on the tab. Specifically, in the intermediate variation second bar C I'm confused.

Jenny Selig

Cynthia taught it in the intermediate jam, for $20+ Patrons, since it was the intermediate variation. On YouTube, I'd look for Matt Dahlberg or Aldrine (Uke Minutes) tutorial videos. You should be able to search "hammer on ukulele" and find a bunch.

Jenny Selig

Did you figure it out, Valerie? I'm just seeing this now. Let me know if you need help.

SONIA BARDES

Thank you so much Cynthia for the intermediate level :D XOXOXOXOX

Holly W

Beautiful!! Hard but worthy learning definitely.

Gary Lee

Thank you for the lesson Cynthia! I have always wanted to learn this song.
