Aloha Patrons!

Welcome to our monthly vote!  Please note that voting closes Monday, August 12th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

If you're new to Patreon, thanks for being here!  Please read thoroughly for instructions on how the whole voting process works. (Also, if you're new, join our secret facebook group!  Email patronhelp@cynthialin.com with your facebook email address and we'll add you - and see Community Notes at the bottom of this post for more ways to connect.)

How the Song of the Month works

Here's the TL;DR version of what happens with the Song of the Month:

1. All Patrons vote!  (in this post!  see the song options below!)

2. I create a Chord Chart ($3+ Patrons) and teach a Live Lesson ($5+ Patrons) for the winning song, and I'll record a Play-Along to release on YouTube.

3. All Patrons receive access to the recorded hour-long Live Lesson the following month.

THANK YOU PATRONS for directly supporting the creation of these higher production Play-Alongs!  Click these links to find all Play-Along posts and Live Lesson posts .

Song options from your comments

This month, I'm sharing the songs that got a lot of love in the comments last month.  Be sure to upvote your fellow Patrons' comments by clicking the heart on their comment!

HOW TO VOTE

1. Click on the check box for as many of the song choices as you like below- yes, multiple votes are allowed. Please note - as soon as you tick the checkbox, the vote is counted. (you can look at the ticker on the right!  Sometimes the ticking doesn't work on certain devices - in this case, try your laptop or desktop vs tablet or mobile)

2. Comment with ONE SONG that you’d want for next month's tutorial.  Remember that our Patrons span all across the world, so the songs that tend to win are worldwide classic hits.  I will also keep your suggestions in mind for our other monthly lessons.  Please keep it to one song suggestion per person.

3. Upvote other people's song choices by clicking the heart on their comment. Upvotes are an easy way to double your voting power!  Your upvotes matter, so I encourage you to come back and look through your fellow Patrons' comments to upvote.

Thank you, and happy voting!

She has done it as a class song but I don’t know that she has taught it on Patreon.

Jenny Selig

I see on the Song Index it’s been done in two beginner jams, but I didn’t calculate how much time she spent on it.

Jenny Selig

I’d enjoy Going to California.

Suggest a Grace Vanderwaal song to be a bit more content and salute a young uke artist.

Jaime

For another Aussie song. My Island Home by Christine Anu

Anna Schwind

How about Rainbow Connection as done by The Muppets?

Jann Powell

Lean on Me with a cool walk-up - walk-down.

Amanda Matheson

Keep in mind we did a similar simon and garfunkel not too long ago.

Amanda Matheson

I have a recommendation, maybe with fewer song choices the votes won't be spread apart as much..

Heidi

That's a really great song. George has always been my fave of the Fab Four too! You know, he loved the ukulele too! I read that he would load up a pickup truck and give them away in Hawaii just to share the happiness :)

Maree Smith

Thanks Heidi -- I knew he loved the uke but I didn't know about the pickup truck and giving them away! That is fabulous!

Jennie Kessinger

Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears

Terri Hill

I tried to put a suggestion in but when I go back, I never see it 😏. Do all Patreon levels get to make a suggestion? Wanted Fox on the Run but I guess I will keep looking

Christina Ciano

You have done it correctly, Terri. I see your suggestion in the comments. If other patrons like your suggestion it will get up-voted by other patrons clicking the heart by it. If it has enough interest, Cynthia will put it in the vote.

Terri Hill

I am pretty sure I put 2 comments for that song but never saw them. Patreon might be to hard for me to work thru. Sad 😞

Lisa Reinhard

I don't think we have done anything by the Rolling Stones - I'd love Paint it Black or Sympathy for the Devil :)

Smudge

I love "Tears in Heaven", I am looking forward to more arrangements at that intermediate level!

Stefie

5 people upvoted your bluegrass suggestion Terri. Just click on “load more comments “ to scroll back up to see pevious comments.

Could Cynthia possibly teach us a Doobie Bros number such as Listen to the music or Long train running, I would love to play that funky rhythm. Tnanks

Maria Müller

I'm really interested in learning the Stairway to Heaven Part 4, the solo part.

Candi Fyfe

I love "My love, my life" from momma mia 2 (meryl streep sings to her daughter at the end) or Queen's Love of my life....seems like a theme to me!

Janet Amos

Florence + The Machine » Dog Days Are Over

Laura G

Galileo by The Indigo Girls 💕

Jenny Selig

Cynthia has said she's not the person to teach that, as solos like that aren't her specialty. Others online have tabbed it out and taught it, though.

Maria Müller

Ah. Thanks a lot for this additional information. That makes sense. I've already googled a lot but couldn't find anything. I will continue.

Jenny Selig

I think someone said it is a paid lesson available through Rock Class 101? I’m not sure.

JustJ

Drivin on 9 by the breeders.
