aloha Patrons!

a warm welcome to the many new patrons, happy to have you here!

TIME FOR ANOTHER VOTE!

i have a number of tutorials queued up based on the last vote - i've got Sea of Love and Moon River coming to you soon.  i'm teaching Edelweiss and La Vie en Rose on Tuesday for the monthly Live Jam (available to Patrons at the $10 level).  those songs are next on the queue.

for those who are new and haven't voted before, what songs do you want to learn?

for those who have voted before, i'm keeping track of your previous votes.  i'd love to hear about any new songs you're interested in learning.

POST your vote in the COMMENTS below, and feel free to add a little bit about what songs you're currently working on, and if you have a local uke group to play with.

happy strumming!

cynthia.

Kim ?

La Vie en Rose would be beautiful

Ian Crary

Wait So Long -Trampled By Turtles. Would sound gnarly on the uke. Mahalo!

Peter Spencer

I'm sure you have a lot to do on your To-do list already. Anything that we combine a little finger plucking and strumming! Sorry didn't check any of your previous tutorials to see if that request is already covered though.

Rudy Ramirez

I Left My Heart in SF or Hanalei Moon,

NadineJohnson

Hanalei Moon or Neil Young Harvest Moon

Richard Johnson

Harvest moon in lower register would be wonderful

Anna Hughes

I'd love to learn the versions of Time after Time and End of the Line from your Doppleganger album - on Uke!

Judy Burgenbauch

I would love to learn Blackbird, Love is a Losing Game or Maybe I'm Amazed. We recently started a ukulele group here in the Eastern Sierra of California. Many of us learned to play the ukulele with your tutorials. Thanks so much!

Mark Freeman

Maybe I'm Amazed or I'll Melt with You Thanks for all of the great videos. 3 weeks in and it's coming along!

Hy Cynthia - My vote(s) this month got for 'Just Like Heaven' and 'Uncle John's Band.' Your version of Just Like Heaven really makes the lyrics stand out in ways I never heard from the Cure. I have been struggling with Uncle John's Band and the quick transitions, so any help in a tutorial would be appreciated. I play with a small group of uke beginners, and we are working on Down on the Corner, Here Comes the Sun and Imagine. Mr. Bojangles is a personal favorite (done at the David Bromberg pace), and it would be great to hear you play that in your 100 songs some time. Thanks for the tutorials!

No uku groups that I know of in my area. (Northeast Ohio) but I am still so new I might not have sought them out yet. I've only been learning since October 2015. Songs I've been working on / looking at on my own are: Tomorrow will be Kinder by the Secret Sisters, Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift (& Cival Wars), One Voice by the Wallin' Jennys, and Longing to Belong by ... Eddie Vedder and some kids songs as I am a mother of young children. All of which I could use help on. MY VOTE would be the Longing to Belong song by Eddie Vedder, Blackbird, or anything classic to the ukulele sound (and I would trust your judgement on that) or something that would hone in our strumming skills. But, nothing much harder than what we've already had. I loved the HEY - HO song by the Lumineers because the strum was fun to learn. I had a hard time with the rock strum from Hey Jude ....I've been loving the fingerpicking songs and strum songs..... even though I'm slow at them I've enjoyed them, especially last months picks. I'm so excited about this months picks!!! Two of my faves were picked!!!!! Tab is still really hard for me. I didn't even try the Guava Jam. I'm gonna have to go back to that at a later date. Ok, that's all from me for now.

Something from Nirvana!

Fuzzy

Just Like Heaven by the Cure still has my vote.

Fuzzy

In my Uke Group, we've done some Eric Clapton, such as San Francisco Bay Blues and Three Little Girls, which are fun to play and easy to improvise some other chords into, such as 7ths or Sus4ths. We've also done Daydream by John Sebastian (in C), Auld Lang Syne, Can't Buy Me Love and If I Fell (performed by Nellie McKay) & Nowhere Man by the Beatles, Cups (When I'm Gone) performed by Anna Kendrick. I've also been working on/re-writing MoonShadow by Cat Stevens (Yusaf Islam), which I'm still working out the finer points of.

Dear Cynthia, Thank you for your fantastic videos! I am just trying to play hero from family of the year and would like to vote for it. Greetings from Germany!

Maggie

One more: "Take me On" in the style of Annie B Sweet.

Becky McFall

How about Margaritaville or other Jimmy Buffet? Would love an Indigo Girls song!

Sergio Fraile

I'm a bit new in this and maybe it's cus I'm still trying to learn not too difficult songs but I think Love Like This by Kodaline could be great

Tamara Hackley

I'm interested in learning something from the reggae genre, or a traditional Hawaiian song of some sort. :)

Shanna Takayama

#1 Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride #2 Uncle Johns Band

Janet P

#1 Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head - This seems like a perfect song for the Uke.

Cynthia Lin

uncle john's band seems to have some support, and is super fun to sing! i don't know the first song, if you could post a link, would be great!

MJC23

It's from the Lilo and Stitch movie (among other things)

Fuzzy

I'll see if I can forward my arrangement to you for some tweaking.

Morgan Granata

I heard a version on our local jazz station one rainy Monday and it was a pick me up. It wasn't Sinatra or Louis Armstrong and when I tried to find the chords...was complicated. Hope the link works. Thanks!

John Lynch

When I'm Sixty-Four ")

John Lynch

But ... I do like all of the above
