Aloha uke friends!

To the Patrons who voted for this tutorial ages ago, thank you for your patience - I present Part 1 of the Blackbird tutorial!

The chord chart is now available for all at http://gumroad.com/cynthialin . Patrons can download directly from this post (FYI I have updated the chord chart slightly since I first posted it).

Part 2 is coming soon - this is going to be a long tutorial (I had over an hour of footage to edit), so I needed to break it up into smaller parts.  Part 1 has plenty of challenge to keep you busy for a while though. :)

Have any Patrons begun working on Blackbird from the charts I posted?  Let me know how it goes, where the tutorial is helpful, and where you need more help.  Part 2 will explain the picking patterns and help you put together picking and chords.

I'll share another post very soon about new reward levels and a more organized tutorial schedule (with accompanying live lesson!) for the new year.

Enjoy!

xo cynthia.

I didn't work in it at all! Going to start today! Thank you! Love this song!

I have been working on it. It is slow going, but I think separating the chords and the finger picking will be helpful. I think I also really need to just memorize the order of the chords! Hopefully, with practice, I'll gain muscle memory. I look forward to seeing part 2! My hand does tend to begin cramping up after a little while...

A lovely challenge and those chords just sounds amazing ! I am cramping up a bit as well :) I could use some tips to hold the Uke with my left hand: how to place my hand to smoothen the transition between the chords!

Been working!!!! When is part 2.....? Anxiously awaiting!

Hi, Reg. Do you see the links in the post above, to Gumroad and to the Patreon Post with the download? Is either of those what you're referring to?
