How to Post #100DaysUke2023: new Patron Community Tab option (Patreon)
Content
{Patron-only post}
Aloha, Patrons!
Day 1 of our 100 Days of Ukulele Project 2023 is Wednesday, February 22nd, which has dawned in a number of time zones already! See my post on joining the 100 Days of Ukulele for 2023 from last week for all the details.
A number of Patrons who prefer to not use social media indicated an interest in sharing their 100 Day Project here on Patreon. Let's give it a try and see how it goes! We invite you to post on the Community tab, which is viewable by Patrons only. You can find it by clicking on "Community" at the top of my Patreon Homepage or on the Patreon app. Please note that it does not have all the functionality of the social media platforms, so we ask for your patience and help as we explore together the ways to best use this alternative option.
How to Post on the Patron Community Tab
Remember, you can pick your favorite platform to share, use them all, or just do the project privately. Having community support can be encouraging, to have a little more accountability, so join a community if you can. Also, you need to manage the tech aspects of the project on your own - that is part of the project. You will find every answer about how to join the project in our 100 Days of Uke FAQ.
Specifically for the Patron Community tab, posting will work this way for the first week (and then we'll re-evaluate):
- Record a short video (it does not need to be a full-length song)
- Upload to your own platform of choice (some options: your own YouTube channel, sharable drive like Google or Box or Dropbox, shareable photo album like Google photos or iCloud) and copy the link of the video
- Navigate to the Community tab on your device of choice, using an internet brower or the Patreon app.
- Post the link to the video in the comments on the appropriate Day's post. See the Day 1 post here. Community Managers will post each day with a new daily post for everyone to use. Note that links in comments do not work in browsers, but they should when viewed on the Patreon App.
- Please copy and paste other folks' links so you can watch their videos and leave encouraging comments for your fellow participants whenever you can. We have a "Positive comments only" policy when it comes to the 100 Days Project. Everyone is on their own journey, and we support each other's journeys.
After the first week, we will make adjustments based on participation and feedback, so please do share your ideas via the comments on this post, and help build this community if you want to see it grow.
Thank you to the Community Managers for supporting this effort! Look forward to seeing your posts, wishing everyone a sustainable 100 days!
