aloha Patrons!

hope to see some of you in a few hours for this month's Live Lesson of Banana Pancakes!  there is a lot going on in the song, and it would be great to have you join in and get your feedback. :)

DOWNLOAD THE CHART: look for the blue link on the left under the video, just click to download directly

HOW TO WATCH:

1. Click the link to the Live Lesson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPAnM4ZotcE  (same as the video linked above)

2. Log into YouTube to join the chat - your feedback will be helpful as I work my way through teaching the song.

The Live Lesson will probably last 45 minutes, as this is a pretty complicated song.  It's my first time teaching this song, and I always learn something by teaching.  So tune in if you can, and thanks for your help and support!

Great job on the live lesson Cynthia!!! It's riff time!

Great tutorial on Nanana Pancakes! Still unclear about the switch coming next month - I'm an advanced beginner and could really handle the intermediate level, but it would just take me more time. What do you recommend?

Maggie

Me too! Oh man you worried me! I love the intermediate jam so far!!! 😩 and I can imagine it's hard to now bridge those of us that have traveled with you to this point (the past two years who found you early in your start?) but you are bringing in new people too. I appreciate your challenge. We will try to roll with what comes. I sincerely believe you are considering all factors. 👍

Question: The second verse; starts Hala ka ukelele... those are split measures, correct? That's what it looked like in the play along. If so, I think the brackets are missing around the cords.

Laura D'Arienzo

When I'm trying to quickly switch from the G to the D7 chord in the verses my G is getting deadened. Does anyone have any advise on this? Are you letting the notes ring for a second or not?

Cynthia Lin

aloha susan! i'd suggest upgrading to intermediate and trying out the live jams from the previous months to see if you like the level. if it's too much, you can download the intermediate songbook and work on your own, and reduce your pledge back down to the beginner level.

Cynthia Lin

aloha laura! i'd suggest practicing that change as slowly as you can, to make sure that you don't lose the G. you are likely picking up your fingers from the G too early. finish the strum on G, and then move to D7
