Aloha, uke friends!

Every year, the 100 Days of Ukulele Project community grows, and 2023 was our most active year yet!  SAVE THE DATE: March 1st, for Day 1 of 100 Days of Ukulele 2024.  Comment below if you participated last year, and share how many years you've been doing 100 Days!  💯

As in several past years, after Day 100 passed, we invited participants to submit clips from their 100 Day journeys to be added to a compilation "Showcase" video for the year. It features many talented and dedicated players of all levels, and is a wonderful summary of the year's project.

Join me to celebrate our 2023 participants with the new Showcase video that will premiere live on YouTube this Saturday, January 13th at noon Hawaii Time. I hope you'll join me in the live chat to watch and cheer on the performers!

Participants who opted in to the video Showcase were asked to share a 1 minute clip or compilation from their 2023 100 Day Project, along with a quote about what the project has meant to them. Many people shared original songs or collaborations with friends and family (online and IRL). I hope their work will inspire you as much as it has inspired me!

I also want to give a special thanks to Dorian Davis and Jenny Selig for helping to organize the 100+ submissions, and to our editor Owen Emry (assisted by his son) for the enormous amount of work that went into putting the video together.

I look forward to seeing you online. Be sure to say hello in the live chat and leave some encouraging comments for our performers!

The video will remain up at the same link after the premiere, for those who aren't able to view it live, or who'd like to return later to view more/rewatch.

I am excited for the premiere of 2023 and looking forward to my 4th year! This is a great family!

Robert Dowell

I began the 100 Day challenge in 2022. I was forced to stop after day due to a stroke that incapacitated my left hand (chording hand). I completed that challenge in 2023. I have been watching the challenges since 2019, cheering everyone along. I gave some hints along the way to try and help new players. I have played ukulele 7 years, guitar 53 years and violin for 9 of those 53. I played accordion 1.5 years starting at age 9 (1957).

Audrey Gross

I joined the 100 day challenge in 2023 with less than a year of playing uke. I also had no experience recording videos so the whole experience was new. I'm not sure why I thought I would be up to the challenge except that I was motivated to learn as much as possible in the shortest time possible so I jumped in with both feet! I was so relieved when it was finished - some of the videos were terrible, but I am so glad that I did it anyway because of how much I learned. I am hoping to learn as much in 2024.

I finally got a chance to watch the whole premiere video. So many great memories and great stories. Love you all and I am looking forward to 2024! Aloha!❤️🤙🏻
