Waiting for the next 2 weeks while y'all finish this season is going to suck lmao. I can just picture it now. I rewatched these 4 eps a few days ago to remind myself of what is coming and oh boy. The cliffhangers make it especially difficult. I feel like of all the shows to match your channel and how you react, True Blood is a match made in heaven. The perfect puzzle piece fit.

For how long the drive between ‘Bon Temps’ and Houston I would estimate 4-6 hours. My best guess is the fictional town is just north of the Atchafalaya Basin area. The major swamps and much of the creole/cajun culture are further south and they reference Monroe a lot (which is in north Louisiana, which is geographically and culturally different from the south). And I collect LGBTQ/social justice tarot decks and card meaning can have a lot to do with layout/context but in most of my decks it is interpreted as accountability / social justice. Happy Pride!!!

The way the Dallas storyline unfolds and culminates is a big part of why S2 is my favorite season! Also, I love how the show fleshed out Godric’s character. In the books, he was a super minor character Sookie encounters, and was NOT Eric’s maker. The alterations with Godric and Lafayette are my two favorite creative liberties the show took With Godric, they created a compelling vampire, balancing out quiet wisdom with cool, calm ancient authority. A vampire emphasizing the responsibility of personal growth amidst high stakes and extremist tensions. He also helps add depth to Eric’s character, who I think starts to become a lot of people’s crush this season

I feel bad for Jessica 😩 and Maryann is wrecking havoc in Bon Temps. And the Justice card represents responsibility and getting what you give. That card means a current situation is an direct effect of one's actions and how they've been carrying themselves

I love Godric as a character. As I commented on the first episode where he appears, I even have a dog named after him. The idea of such a powerful being who is literally immortal and yet has grown to have such compassion for others is just so hot for some reason 😂. I do think he's deeply depressed though. Because we learn in this episode that he let himself be captured by people who he KNOWS want to kill him and it seems he was just gonna let it happen. He didn't have to kill anyone to escape. He could have just walked away anytime he wanted, but he stayed and only left when too many people and vampire's lives were at stake (no pun intended). So that really shows he cares very little for his own life, but still cares deeply for others. One fun fact about him from the books (not a spoiler): Godric was 16 years old when he was turned into a vampire. In the show they picked an adult actor to play him (which is totally fair given how gory the show is), but I like that they still made sure to show that he's a short king and kind of innocent looking. The book's descriptions of him and all his scenes make it seem like he still clearly looks like a teenager and it's super eerie that he's older and stronger than everybody else around him.

That intro scene! Godric has such an aura. Yes Jason being defensive of Sookie 🙌🏼 This is the energy I need. Eric smiling & being friendly to blend in sent me 😂 Not Bill walking in on Hoyt & Jessica. Oof Tara’s tarot reading was so ominous. Lafayette eavesdropping was so real 😂 Oof Eric being tortured in front of everyone tho. Maryann setting up Sam for murder is wild. That church scene was tense! Not them eating the hunter’s soufflé! I felt so bad for Jessica 😭 Oop Bill telling Eric he’ll never have Sookie. Eric wiping the slate clean with Jason was cool. That was a sweet scene between Jason & Bill 💚 Godric showing leniency to Hugo didn’t look like it went over well to the vampires. Not Maryann making Tara & Eggs hurt each other! She needs to be stopped. Oop Sookie grabbing & telling off Lorena in front of everyone. 🙌🏼 Godric putting Lorena in her place was awesome. Not Luke with the silver bomb cliffhanger! What a fantastic episode 👏🏼 So much tension throughout! Love people like Lorena & the pastor getting put in their place & embarrassed publicly. Sam getting arrested for Daphne’s murder & Maryann having Tara & Eggs eat her heart was crazy. The themes of violence begetting more violence was so prevalent in this one. I definitely think Godric isn’t gonna make it very much further but I’m so intrigued by his past & philosophy on vampirism & humankind. Amazing reaction as always guys 🖤

Yes i started watching this show at 14 with my family. The sex scenes are just part of the fantasy novel. I attract more to shows that arent very censored. Main reason why I could never get into Vampire Diaries. Its not raw enough for me. The Walking Dead was denied by HBO, Imagine how much better it wouldve been.

I cannot do Vampire Diaries, Buffy or any of the other high school type shows. I'm just too old and the teen angst just doesn't hit the same. That said, I loved The Originals and Angel. I first watched True Blood in real time in my 50s with a friend's daughter who was about your age at the time. It brought up a lot of conversations about sex, same sex relationships and just ton's of other stuff that her parents would never talk about. A few years later and I was the one to take her to the ob/gyn to get on the pill because she said her mom would be too embarrassed. I think you need to be the first source of information about sex to your kids. If you are not, their peers probably will be and they don't know shit.✌️💖
