Perfect timing tonight! Love this one

Nina

YEEES I’m so ready😍

Amanda Panda

Here before the notification hit my phone, lol.

Barb

you guys i love gabriel so bad. i already liked him but this episode !!! this episode !!!!!!! also the lucifer and gabriel confrontation was so good. i’ve loved all the angel vs angel confrontations this season like with cas and lucifer in 5x10, now this one with gabriel and lucifer.

DkLounge

You guys forgot the other archangel Raphael from 5x03

Miss Maya

Elysian Fields are from greek mythology. it was sort of heaven, a place of afterlife where all the heroes went. I also remember the verse "Daughter of Elysium" is in Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" symphony :) but it generally is described as peaceful heavenly place of glory

Amina

I have a nail polish called "I've got the kielbasa you ordered" inspired by this episode 😂

ash

Mark’s Lucifer is TERRIFYING. Sam and Dean now have a plan. But where’s Death? Where’d Pestilence going???

Jay

Spearmint Rhino is a chain of "Gentlemen' Clubs" ie strip clubs - I guess it makes sense that you wouldn't know about them!

Natalie Halveston

Aww I love this episode. Absolutely fantastic, fun and heartbreaking too.

Anita

Am I the only one that is humming along and dancing to the horror bandwagon intro music?

Christina

I love Gabriel, I was heartbroken watching him die when I first watched this show. I love the scene between him and Lucifer, I just love the dynamics between the Archangels

katyggls

My theory is that a lot of the other gods are weaker now because not many people believe in them anymore. I mean, how many people still worship Odin?

Kiki Varas

After you finish Season 5 you guys have to look up that website and watch the Ghost Facers. Idk if the website is still up but I think you can still find the episodes. I’d love to see you guys react to it. It’s short episodes like each about 10 minutes and I think there are like 10 episodes.

Nancy Nicolai

There actually is a Ghostfacers web series ( with 10 episodes ) that you can watch on Plex for free 🤣

Melissa Pouliot

I love that they made Kali the strongest, probably because she has the most worshippers left of all the old gods.

Isaac

THERE'S HOPE!!

Melissa Pouliot

Theres only 4 archangels. Lucifer, Micheal, Raphael, Gabriel. Micheal is the eldest, so god's first and so is the strongest I think.

Bethany

omg jessica from yellowjackets

Purple Nurple

Yes. THIS is the extra thing I messaged about that is something you can watch either by yourself or you can react to. I believe it's all on YT as well...

2026-10-18 16:00 I'm not an expert on old pagan gods but I do know that at least some of them were always playing with people. Raping, torturing and killing humans for fun is kinda the pagan gods way. So them eating people is not that strange of an idea for the show.

The boys have joked at many conventions they wanted an episode of the boys doing laundry in a laundromat - which if they followed fanfiction they'd also be in their boxers so that all the laundry gets done. I'm sure if they'd done that it would be the most rewatched episode of the series, lol😆 could you imagine the shenanigans As for this episode I adore it so much and love Gabriel. I hate lucifer for killing him but I loved his speech and that he hid the plan in a porno. Such fun, he will be missed.

pamysue

I'm an atheist and love SPN's view on the religion I grew up in long ago. Finally found a good use for all the parochial school studies😁 This is a top tier episode✌️💖

pamysue

Living in the US these days, I could swear there is a 5th Horseman called Petulance running our country😁

Purple Nurple

Ever since Covid I can't watch the Pestilence scene lol... I remember when first watching this I was like 'noooo Gabriel' when Kali stabbed him, but then I thought 'he can't go out like this, it's a trick' and I was right! Then he got stabbed by Lucifer... but my brain still refused to believe it (he is my favourite after all!). The trailer in the middle of this episode always jump scares me haha, I always forget when it is in the episode! And yes - it's a web series that you can watch - it's an extra on the blurays and they're short episodes.

Liz Nichols

Glad y'all asked! I'm pagan and it's easy to know this is fiction and majority of western culture has beliefs along these lines...sort of. At least culturally

Liz Nichols

When I started Yellowjackets, it took me a second of where do I know her from, but then remembered this

Carmi

Quite a few Norse Pagans actually

Carmi

1. This shows very little knowledge on pagan religions and also a very Christianized view as well. 2. Which pagan gods? You can't put a whole bunch of religions into one box and make such a broad assumption. As someone who is a pagan, it's actually very bizarre to see this kind of interpretation of these gods. 4. Christians practice ritualistic symbolic cannibalism when taking communion, so this kind of comment makes me giggle.

Carmi

Hello fellow pagan!

Cory

I'm glad you followed up and boned up on your Greek mythology after the episode.

Kate Murphy

THE HORSEMAN OF PETULANCE? Ah, obsessed.

Melissa Pouliot

The way I wrote this may be insensitve to your beliefs and I apologize. I was talking about the show's interpretation. Anyway will delete if I can. Apologies again.

This episode got a lot of backlash due to its depiction and trivialization of Hinduism's gods, Kali and Ganesh. They are highly revered and have millions of worshippers. Google search said that it was pulled from broadcast in India back in the day, though it was not subject to an official, country-wide government legal ban. There were also occasions when they just muted the names Kali and Ganesh. https://gizmodo.com/a-rare-supernatural-episode-that-should-not-have-been-m-5523266 --A Rare Supernatural Episode That Should Not Have Been Made https://www.oneindia.com/2010/04/24/hindusupset-over-trivialization-of-their-gods-in-anholly.html --Hindus upset over trivialization of their gods in an Hollywood TV episode" https://www.hindujagruti.org/news/9244.html --Hindus upset over trivialization of their gods in “Hammer of the Gods” episode of “Supernatural” (oneindia and hindujagruti are the same articles, reproduced on different websites)

Sammy

THIS IS MY FAVOURITE EPISODE

Sammy

Valhalla is 'heaven' for heroes as well!

Miss Maya

we're talking about greek mythology here. Elysian Fields are a concept from ancient greek mythology. Valhalla is from norse/scandinavian viking mythology. different cultures, thousands of years apart :) but yes, many different cultures and mythologies have their own version of afterlife and heavenly planes

Celia DeGraw

Omg this is one of my favorite episodes yay!!

Emma J Steele

I also love that the decay on Lucifers forehead look like horns😈

CALM

Btw, the famous "Champs Elysées" in Paris literally means "Elysian Fields". So a paved road lined with luxury stores is someone's idea of heaven, huh.

CALM

That's a great theory! It always made me a bit uncomfortable that an archangel would kill those powerful gods so easily here, but what you said makes so much sense! Especially if we suppose that the god in this show represents the one in the three main monotheist religions, that makes for a lot of people. (Also, like someone else said here, Kali still has a lot of worshipper so she could put up a fight!)

CALM

Lucifer is truly awful here, but the pain in his expression after killing Gabriel, his little brother, makes me emotional. You can feel how he truly didn't want to do this, but thought he had to. That makes Mark Pellegrino a really great actor, even though I hate his character so much! Also that ending scene is so awesome and so disgusting, it's both fascinating and hard to watch...

CALM

Thank you! I had no idea either...

katyggls

@Carmi Right, I didn't say zero people. But compared to people who worship the Judeo-Christian God? I mean, I'm not picking a side here, I'm an atheist, but by the numbers a lot more people profess to believe in that God than Odin, at least in the modern world.

Jay

They do their laundry in a laundromat in The Monster at the End of This Book in season 4 - it's very funny that they've forgotten that

Jay

That idea is also in American Gods – Eric Kripke's talked about Neil G*!man being an influence but I'm not sure if he mentioned AG in particular (and he's probably never going to credit him again now!)

Jay

I used to work near one of them - and I knew a dancer who worked at another branch. They were supposed to be classier than other strip clubs, not sure if it's true

Anthony

“There’s somebody behind me isn’t there” I feel like Dean is the perfect person to deliver this over used line I still see him as The Trickster lol I’m not a fan of Ghostfacers but damn Sergio’s reaction is one of the best from this show so far Love this look of Lucifer and the body/vessel breaking down. Then him having that scene killing everyone “Lucy, I’m home.” 👏 Gabriel’s video had to be a reference to Scream 3.

JW-

@Carmi Buncha wannabes. The real thing is extinct.

Sammy

I know.... I was just saying it's a similar concept......

Jackson Potluck

Kali is the most powerful because Hinduism has the second most adherents after Judeo-Christian/Islam which I'm assuming they're grouping all together since it all basically has the same cosmology for the most part. I like that Djinn are pretty powerful which always make me think Islam is very much in play. Although, they did do Ganesh dirty. But at least Kali doesn't die. That would have annoyed me. The gods get their power from the amount of worshippers they have, the amount of devotion, etc. Think of it like their food or power source. This show was very inspired by the book American Gods but also it's referenced a couple episodes. I believe the Paris Hilton Pagan god talks about it? Kripke has said infinite times that American Gods in particular was the main inspiration for the show. I won't give too much away but yeah, it's basically the pagan gods are weakened because they have significantly less worshippers. Hinduism, however, predates Christianity by a lot and the number of Hindus is over 1 billion. Whereas, the Abrahamic faiths have like closer to 5 billion when combined which explains why the angels are so powerful.

Io Eurodyne

The insanity of having Gabriel being a trickster, Loki and an Archangel was probably as far as I thought this show would go but the pagan gods having the audacity to claim seniority when each of them all have world origin tales is unbelievable 😂 If everything is true nothing is which again leans more towards another being, being the originator. Heck Mercury being Mercury and not what his older Greek name (I think Hermes, I've forgotten 🫣) is just more proof of them not being anything stronger than an archfey or something. It kinda tempers a story when more personal grudges (against Christianity in this case) take over in story plots. Kali whining about pillaging? The Destroyed? Okay 🤭 I don't have a religious dog in the fight (I'm agnostic) but I love a nitpick and will not miss out on an opportunity if I see one 😂

Sergio: It's yellow! It's yellow!! Me: (fully unable to look at the screen) No, I believe you 🤢 I will say, I appreciate that they included deities from different religions and beliefs from across more than one region. I will ALSO say that I hate the term "Judeo-Christian" with every fibre of my being. There are THREE Abrahamic religions all of whom share the same basic beliefs, pray to the same God and whose 3 Holy books are a continuation of the same story. Not that I'm expecting a tv show to get it right but "Judeo-Christian" gets me every single time.

Nyssa Rawther 🍉🔻

Also I'm so sad over Gabriel too. He's the least bag of dx angel we've seen, outside of Cas. The scene with him lying there with his burned wings 💔

Brett Wilkin

So cool that they added Odin and him talking about Ragnarok also just got done watching jacksepticeye play god of war ragnarok

Missy Coffman

I almost forgot how pestilence makes me full on dry heave

Kaylee Smeaton

Elysium is heaven for Romans I think...
