Hey guys,

I've been receiving quite some messages whether it would be possible to make straight visual novel regarding next game. I know we've planned to have sandbox type as there are quite some players who like this style, but I want to know real numbers. I understand I cannot meet expectations of every single player, but at least I want to give you space to tell your opinion.

I will try to describe shortly differences in game mechanics between Sandbox and VN type of game and let you decide what kind game the Babysitters will be.Sandbox type:

Each day will be divided into single hours and each hour you can make some actions which will progress time further (train, work, eat, sleep, interact with girls etc.)

Pros:

- free roam option and real daily life feeling

- player needs to look for clues and things to progress in story, feeling of being rewarded

- longer gameplay each version

Cons:

- repetetive gameplay (although we will try to decrease it as much as possible we cannot totally avoid seeing same action multiple times again)

- more time spent with bugs hunting and coding the mechanics

Visual Novel (TellTale) type:

You will progress through story as in typical TellTale type of game. Based on your decision tree different story paths will open/close for you.

Pros:

- player is 100% focused on the story and his decisions without any distractions

- no repetetive gameplay

- more time spent with renders and less time with coding and bugs hunting

Cons:

- no free roam option (although we will make some mechanics and mini games as you could see on Yacht)

- shorter gameplay each version

PS: Game mechanics in sandbox type of game would be simple pictures of rooms you can click and teleport there.

an experimental thing you could try to do is have a story line broken up with a week of free roam. And then it could funnel what happened in that week back into a story driven experience.

If the sandbox allows us to focus on the female character we feel more attracted to, instead of forcibly having to endure a relationship with a despised character, I'm all for sandbox!

I find sandbox and roaming around all over the place unbelievably tedious, to the point I just stop playing. The only redeeming factor is a walkthrough, which is almost the same as a Visual Novel. The creators who provide substantial branches to their games, this in turn means the game can be played several times.

I prefer VN style but if there isn't a bunch of grinding to do on sandbox they aren't to bad either. Not a fan of game you have to grind for.

I like vn but typ. but i all so don't mind sandbox as long, as it is not to much of a grind to get things to progress. In the end i will go with what ever you think you can do better to make us a great game.

I am torn. If it is a Sandbox like HighRiseClimb, I can see it being okay, perhaps not with so many variables (Love/Hate/Lust/Fitness/Work/Research/Cleanliness/Hunger) you have to grind. But if it goes the way of LuckyMark, I can only say "HellNo". Sandbox where you have to be on a specific Day at a specific hour is just tedious, as you sometimes just skip a whole week just to progress the story and then all the variables you have to grind...

Both have their Pros/Cons, I enjoy the grind of Sandbox to a certain extent but at times your left lost and confused as to how to progress the game. That can be annoying when you have to be in a specific place at a certain time, as you can burn through multiple days just trying to figure it out, if you don't use walkthroughs (I don't like walkthroughs, or using Youtube or any other method, as I enjoy figuring out the "challenge" of advancement). But I really enjoy VN style with multiple story trees, as this gives you a chance to play the game in a multitude of ways to play through different story arcs and endings. I've got four different saves with current Babysitter that arcs differently and even though the updates are shorter I have 4 options to play through. I just wish that "important decisions" in one update plays a role in decisions in an update down the line.

I tend to enjoy the Sandbox versions for the chance to explore in the beginning. It helps to have a "hint" menu to guide us when we find ourselves lost from progress and having a message come up when you have reached the end of content for the current update is helpful too. Story or VN format is nice but tends to feel a little to contrived and linear at times and gives me less feel of control over the coarse of the story. I have enjoyed the fact that there has been a dual coarse you could choose in the VN format that y'all used in Babysitter. It was very well done the way you did it.

I've never seen a sandbox game tell a good story. If anyone can do it the T4bbo team can.

The whole reason I fell in love with your game was the way you have combined amazing art, beautiful story and an emotional attachment to the characters. From my previous experiences this is very hard to find in a sandbox game. If you can provide the same experience in a sandbox game as you have in Babysitter I don't think many would complain. Personally though, I love the formula you used in Babysitter, Keep up the great work!

January 2019 is almost over... Is the update still coming out this month?

Naturebee

I've done a lot of story writing, would gladly help for free.

Mannn, I like sandbox types, like the one u did with the babysitter game, so I can interact things and feel more realistic.
