Thank you for the support! You guys are awesome!

I know what you're thinking. "Of Couscous it's Delicious" is barely an acceptable pun in English, and the newscaster was speaking French, being translated into English via closed captioning, and who knows what language the actual food truck's name was in, only it probably had to be in English, because the pun probably wouldn't work in French, Arabic or Wolof, even though barely anyone in Senegal even speaks English, and how would you serve couscous heavy dishes out of a food truck? I looked up Senegalese cuisine, and it seems quite sauce heavy. Little pasta pellets and sauce isn't really finger food. I guess paper picnic bowls would work as long as you ate it before the sauce seeped through. I don't know. It sounds messy. Maybe slurping up spicy, piping hot, messy food before capillary action defeats paperware is part of the appeal?

I wonder about stuff like news programs in countries with a jillion languages. French is the official language there, so government forms and road signs are probably going to have French on them at a minimum, but only 20% of the population speaks the language. As was mentioned on previous pages, it's mostly Wolof and Arabic that are spoken, and I've no idea of the literacy rates for each language. So is the news presented in French with Wolof and/or Arabic subtitles? Or do the channels do the news three times in a row, or are there live dubbed secondary audio channels or something?

Anvil is styling today. Guess she felt the need to compete with the lionesses.

Torabi

I love Anvil's casual elbow drop, despite how ridiculous it looks.

martin leske

love the orb reflection in her eyes

I mean. Maxima and Arianna definitely won’t like this. Doing some off the books work is one thing, but super brawling on national television… Dabbler can at least go disguised. Anvil might at least pass for a local… until someone cross references the image with know supers… Even then some bluffing might work… Sydney however has a unique appearance and skill set that no one can really explain. Besides. Her orbs are possibly on the firtz.

There are probably several news channel, like in monolingual countries, except those are in different languages. (Also, even though french is the native language of only 20% of the population, most of the remaining 80% probably has some notions of their official language.)

Tannerbot

So, just now realizing Anvil could powerbomb out of orbit and be fine... Cool.

Mike

Anvil looks like she's posing during that elbow drop. Love it!

So is Sydney more upset about missing the fight or the food truck being destroyed before she could get something from it?

Man, don't mess with street food vendors. Their business is hard and dangerous enough as-is.

The bulk of my knowledge of Senegal comes from watching "Moolade."

So, I too started wondering about the news/language thing. Found a Senegal tv channel on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/2stvsenegal/videos Seems to be speaking either French or something else (which I cautiously assume is Wolof). And then all the text seems to be in French. No subtitles.

genuine question, has anyone here used the term "What's the skinny" when googling something?

So, "Hot Tub Time Machine" is canon in the Grrl-verse?

With French being the official language of Senegal I would assume that having a passing degree of facility with it is a necessity to be able to do anything that requires government paperwork. So, unless you're exclusively a part of the criminal underbelly you most likely can understand spoken French as well as read and write it. Also, if memory serves, the US is rather unusual in that most people DON'T know at least two languages, even if they are only truly fluent in one of them, as such I would assume that with French being the official language of Senegal everyone can understand it, and also happens to be fluent in either Wolof or Arabic, if not both.

"Here I come to save the day!" Said by: 1) Mighty Mouse 2) Captain Chaos 3) Halo 4) All of the above

Judging by Sydney's expression, Anvil's landing on that guy left a major dent in the ground. With a couscous truck exploding in the background for that Michael Bay touch.

No answer the news headline, no there isn't a new lioness. There is a new, Thicc Goddess on the scene.
