The last Etude of Chopin's original set of 24. This final Etude is interestingly reminiscent of the first in Op. 10, both heavily featuring arpeggios with the melody being placed underneath - perhaps this is why the nicknames of both are associated with rushing water (Waterfall/Ocean). Another interesting piece of history with the two sets are the dedications - Op. 10 was famously dedicated to Liszt, but it is less known that Op. 25 was dedicated to Liszt's mistress!
