Chapter 9 Page 26!!!

It's wild how much a black background relaxes the pacing of this page. It's so much nicer to look at when the gutters all have a black fill!

Ananth and I are both of a mind that we're not super interested in doing fight scenes unless they inform character, and if there IS a fight scene it should be as short as possible. I'm not sure how this fight scene wound up being like, a solid third of the chapter haha - well, stuff DID had to happen! And it all DID inform character!

For some reason, I've always preferred to draw comics in sequence, from the first page first to the last page last. I feel like as this chapter went forward, you can tell how much more comfortable I got drawing this latticed floor texture (the stained glass window on its side). And now I never have to draw it again!! Hopefully I'll be able to pay it forward in the future ~
