“Well that seems to have had an effect. Next we’ll look at consuming meat. We’ve prepared some samples for you.”

Erik went through more tests through the day.

“Okay so we can summarize you can only increase an element in your core if your body has been tempered by it. And you should only draw in elements that you have tempered your body with or should use next. So water works for you, but wood is dangerous. Monster cores are effective. So is drawing in mana heavy with the element, as long as you have the capacity for it. Eating monster meat is less effective and concoctions heavy in the elements can be the best way to increase your elemental capacity. For now I don’t think it is useful for anything but your ability to control the elements.”

“Well with my title it did say some other things,” Erik pulled it up

Title: Lesser bloodline

==========

You have unlocked your bloodline.

==========

You have unlocked Bloodline Berserker.

You have unlocked basic evolved form

==========

“Beserker and evolved form. Yes I don’t know what that means.” Melissa admitted.

“Okay, so what should we do?”

“Well I think that you should increase your body cultivation. Right now your monster-sorr,y bad habit, elemental core is lopsided and there is more room within it. Once you temper your body with water I would be surprised if it doesn’t start to get absorbed into your elemental core. Maybe something will happen then too?”

“Bleeding edge of research, we’ll find out eventually,” Erik stood up and stretched.

“With that I have some work to do.”

Erik said his goodbyes and left the training facility. Military members were funneled through one after another.

Erik got up onto Gilly and they headed towards the crafting sector.

“Did you know that the basic standard of every person that become a solider of the Alva military is to have opened all of their mana gates and reached the vapor mana drop stage? Each of them have reached body like stone.” Erik said to Storbon as he rode alongside with half of special team four.

“I think I heard that somewhere.”

“You reached Sky Iron the other day?”

“Yes I did,” Storbon said.

“Congratulations,” Erik said he pulled out a box and passed it to Storbon.

“Sir?”

“Something to help you out. I had to get reports from Niemm on what stage everyone in special team on are at.”

“These, they’re body altering concoctions?”

“Yeah,” Erik rolled his shoulders as they passed through the trading district, everything had been transformed as traders now moved supplies to the front lines.

“Sir.”

“You will all be involved in a war soon. Take them we can mass produce the concoctions needed to form liquid drops and reach body like Iron beyond that we have to rely on our services.” Erik looked in the distance.

“Just trying to do everything I can to prepare.”

Storbon put the box away.

“Thank you.”

“No worries, time to get back to work.”

They had reached the crafting district. People flowed into the workshops along with materials while carts filled with provisions left and crafters staggered to their beds to rest and do it all over again.

Erik dismounted and joined the stream heading into the workshops.

He went into the alchemist workshop. He took a key for a vacant expert level crafting room. He looked at a board filled with concoction requests.

“Earth level tempering pills, always in need.” Those that temper their bodies with the Earth Element will be able to recover faster and be stronger. Revival concoctions only allow us to react to the people who are wounded.

He took the request to the quarter master and put it on the table.

The quarter master saw who he was, falling out of their work daze. Erik pushed the request forward.

The quarter master accepted with both hands and headed into the shelves behind.

He brought out a box with prepared ingredients.

“Who prepared these?”

Erik checked the box.

“I am sorry I can get new ones,” The man squeaked.

“I was just wondering.”

“Uhh, it was Apprentice level alchemists. They are organizing all of the ingredients and portioning them out according to the formulas.”

“They did a good job, this will save me a lot of time,” Erik stored the box away. “Thanks.”

He checked his key and went up to his crafting room.

“Gonna need a nap first to sort out these points.”

Erik took out a sleeping concoction and took a drink.

==========

You have 5 attribute points to use.

==========

“Strength. Fastest way to increase my fighting power. Though its getting hard to control it all. Fine, Three in agility, two in strength. Or should I do mana pool? No all of my spells are cheaper and I can recover with potions and just naturally. Strength and agility it is.”

Darkness fell and faded all too quickly. Erik opened his eyes filled with energy.

“Just what I needed!”

He pulled out his cauldron he placed it down and flames appeared around and within it, starting to heat it up. Erik opened the box of ingredients and organized them on the side.

“Time to get to work.”

The flames grew in temperatures and started to dance, turning into beasts that roved across the metal surface.

“That concludes today’s lecture on precise flame control. Remember to make sure you stretch before you begin. Those of you with a higher agility will have a greater advantage!”

Old Hei said to the students filling the arrayed seats.

The students bowed their heads as he left the room.

“Captain Khasar,” Old Hei said in surprise, on the Alchemist association campuses guards were rarely seen. Most of them trained in the outer areas incase their charges needed to go somewhere. The rest of the time they were out of sight.

“Master Zen,” Khasar bowed to his charge.

“Shall we walk?” He waved for Khasar to join him as they left the classroom behind and headed away from the lecture halls where the high end experts and master alchemists would teach the younger generation.

“It must be important to bring you into the academy grounds.” Old Hei asked, relaxing as they walked through a park filled with ingreidents made to calm the mind.

“The alchemist association has agreed to a new contract about the city Vuzgal,”Khasar pulled out a scroll and passed it to Old Hei.

He quickly read through the information and let out a sigh.

“He’s much stronger than before and just as stubborn. The Willful Institute is a giant and there are plenty of people eyeing his Vuzgal. He was just able to secure control over it due to the aid he rendered the associations. Did they not make them elders?”

Ooohhh I despise disloyalty... yes it might be good business... but those associations got in on the ground floor!!! After the dust settles, assuming Alva still controls the Vuz or if the Vuz still stands, there’s going to be a reckoning! Remember when Rugrat kicked out the upstart crafters??? EPIC! Let the games begin.

Austin lloyd

Totally! The associations are honestly like more intelligent strategic versions of the willful institute—they are two faced and willing to do betray an ally for personal gain.

This section feels kind of choppy to me. Perhaps I should just focus on Eric and then the next could be of his teacher...? I am curious what his alchemy teacher is gonna do-if anything. Perhaps he could send some concoctions to aid in the war effort? They could be from him personally rather than the association... he did say he would help Eric and Delilah

I get what you are saying. To be honest it’s going to be a lot to unpack to tie all of the threads together. We are in book 7 but we haven’t really learned anything about that realm. Hei is a lecturer in the 6th realm and I think bringing him up here is a lead in for him supporting Erik either during or after the war. We’ve got a ways to go on story threads so be prepared for more of this.

Suggestion - Right now your monster-sorry - on what stage everyone in special team one are at.
