Chapter 5 Part 2 of 2 (Patreon)

Erik leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand.
Lee fired out some normal punches, letting out blasts of air, then magma threaded through his body, from his foot, through his legs, up his hip and through his stomach, chest, shoulder, upper arm, lower arm and hand.
Erik was barely able to keep up with the tracing of lights, as Lee’s punches cracked in the air.
He slowed down showing the tracing of elements coursing through his body.
“Now this takes more control to do than just manifesting the element throughout my entire body, but I can use it for longer than someone using manifestation on their entire body.” Lee began walking again. “Sergeant Major, when you are in a battle, what would be best?”
“Your partial manifestation. It will allow us to fight for longer and still be effective. Once you drain your elemental core’s power then you’ll be hit with a wave of fatigue, like when you use up all of your mana.”
Lee manifested the fire element through his body and fired out punches, with lighter cracks than before.
“It takes me nearly three times as long to call up full body manifestation. The stronger your elemental core is, the less time it will take for you to call up the elements that have reached a higher grade.” He fired off a punch with fire igniting through his muscles.
“When you use your muscles they create heat, not much, but it is a natural occurrence of the fire element. Using that heat in combination with the fire element, means I can manifest the fire element faster. You,” Lee pointed at a raised hand.
“Won’t it take longer though? You have to figure out the muscles that are moving, then target them with manifestation and then through your entire body up through your hand. Isn’t it also choreographing your attacks?”
Lee punched again and Erik could only see the magma veins on his hand.
“Clothes are pretty useful in hiding what you’re doing with your elements,” He smiled with the grins and snorts, people shifting around.
“Someone that has enough knowledge of elements will be able to see through your attacks. The less of an element you use, affecting just what you want enhanced, will decrease your elemental spend and increase your fighting ability. Though it will take you longer to master this, think about how you trained with your rifles, it took time and now you could take them apart in your sleep. Training. Takes. Time.”
Lee Perrin looked at them all, seeing them eager to try out what they had learned.
“Alright, one last thing and you can get to working on your manifestation- this has to do with your spells,” Lee turned to the side and raised his hand.
A small lightning bolt as big as a pencil shot out some ten meters and left a burn mark on the ground.
“Lightning Blast.” The chanted spell sucked in the surrounding mana as it went fifteen meters and then hit the ground, making a larger burn mark.
His hand turned silver and lightning played around it, shooting out a paltry spark. “Body like Diamond manifestation and metal element projection.” His hand returned to normal.
“What if I was to use my domain” A larger lightning bolt shot out of his hand, landing thirty meters away. “I’m still using the same amount of mana in the spell, but the spells enhancement by the elements and mana in the area can have a great effect.”
Lightning shot out of his hand without warning, turning into a stream nearly fifty meters long. “Same elemental projection as before, but I linked it to the metal and water elements in the air, strengthening it and giving it greater reach. Now if I was to do that and add in mana-turning it into a spell. I could do this.”
The lightning shot out nearly seventy meters and he shook his hand, using it like a whip for several seconds before it went out.
“Or this.”
He punched forward and a compressed spear of lightning shot out of his fist and hit a target nearly a hundred meters away, destroying it in a blast of light.
The targets remains scattered and dropped to the ground.
“Learn your elements, in each form what do they do? Play with them, test them and get to know them as if they were another limb. Each spell I used the same amount of mana and the same amount of my metal element.” Lee drew himself up, holding his hands behind his back as he faced his silent class.
“Two major things, elemental spells require a ‘base’ to work from, yourself, or something within your elemental domain and create a tether from where they’re created to where they’re going. So that whip of lightning. If someone was to blast through the middle of that spell, then the other end would fail. Spells however can work anywhere in your spell domain. Once cast they can be broken but they have little in the way of a tether. Most pillar spells are just the spell being cast continuously. The more you know about your elements the stronger your spells will be.”
“Any other questions?”
“Why is air not an element?”
“Good question, air is a medium between the elements instead of an element itself, it carries them all and it is made from many of them. Lightning will displace it. Wood will consume it and create it. Earth will do the same. Fire will burn brighter with it, or less without, while it will be heated in the process. It is formed easily by using heat, or one can use water.”
Erik rose and left the stadium with his Special Team who all had thoughtful expressions. I wasn’t the only one listening in.
Erik left them, hearing the rounds of questions coming afterwards as others went off to work on their elemental knowledge.
Erik manifested surges of the earth element to the shrapnel in his body, his breathing coming harder as he slowed down.
His elemental capacity was pitiful to what it had been. The dungeon cores purified the elements coming into his body, taking even longer for him to recover once he had elementally fatigued himself.
They reached a carriage and Erik got inside.
He held out his fingers and created a small flame on his forefinger. I wonder
He rubbed his fingers together feeling them warm and called the fire element to his finger. It appeared quicker and about a half centimeter taller.
