"Miss Harper… I see that you’re beginning to understand the nature of this company. Being smart or hardworking isn’t enough here. We want people who can withstand pressure, no matter what form it takes.

As you can now feel on your own skin, those boots are not some joke played on new interns—they are a filter. A simple but effective test to select the best of the best. If you can’t focus while every step sends a spasm through your body, forces a stifled laugh, twists your face in desperation… then how do you expect to handle meetings under fire, impossible deadlines, and unexpected midnight calls?

The weak laugh, stumble, drop their papers… The strong complete their tasks despite everything. So, Miss Harper, pull yourself together, pick up everything you’ve dropped, and if I don’t have all those revised budget reports and a hot coffee on my desk within the hour… I’ll start calling the next intern on the list.

Your choice."

Oh boy, the tickle-boots are back! A nicely twisted application…and the boss is giving Patrick Bateman vibes, too. Very cool.

Hehe, I hadn’t originally thought of the boss that way, but considering the lack of empathy for his subordinates… his expendable and easily replaceable subordinates, I think the comparison is accurate.
