Echelon has begun pre-production on a new graphic novel and gaming series, _Near Present.

What started as a DoD "FICINT" proposal has become the spine of a conflict extrapolated directly from economic, environmental, and political shifts already in motion today.

With full production not expected to begin till late 2025, we have already pulled together a design team to deliver a world every bit as detailed and authentic as the BPRE books and games you have supported for so many years.

With Thanksgiving around the corner, I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for giving us the opportunity to create such work. We hope to exceed your expectations for years to come.

With the work still early in development, we're not committing to anything other than the setting which 2054 Pac Rim.

Grab a lot of Peter Nealen books! Especially "Task Force Desperate" and the whole American Praetorian series and "especiallyer" "Gray War" and its whole series "Brave New Disorder". If you don't already have read them I cannot stress enough how much you should. With Jason Anspach, Rick Partlow and Nick Cole not far behind he's about my favorite mil writer, but especially those series that are set just a "few years from now" and are all breathtaking, the action, the characters and the setting. It's PERFECT for something like BPRE already and I imagine for what you are cooking now.

Interesting....2054 Pac Rim..... Any chance that potential Near Present conflict with our neighbors to the South becomes a story line?? World is certainly Dynamic these days

That is not presently in the scope of the work we are doing. Mexico is a very complex situation.

Will there be a new Patreon for this?

Will we see any carryover from the BPRE setting/cross compatibility with the 28mm ruleset?

Jon Chang

NP is essentially an expanded version of BPRE28mm.
