Are these going to be laser engraved? The previous ones don’t hold up and the logos come off pretty easily(just normal pocket carry)

Jon Chang

Yes. These are both engraved and we have specifically selected finishes where the engraving would be the most durable based on our previous experience. Even the street chrome ones we ran prior were laser engraved but when the black will eroded, because of the texture, the engraving was basically lost...we wanted them to weather and look like Vietnam era lighters, but that didn't work out as well as we hoped :(

Scroll down a few posts. They're FFI designs for the next phase of the story.

Jon Chang

These are from the new FFI PVC patch set we previewed a month or so back. The Quivered Key or Unlocking Arrow is a design we have developed to represent "Counter Reconnaissance". This was designed as part of the work we are doing for the USMC on our new game, Near Present. We liked the design so much, we wanted to drop it ahead of NP and as such, it will be one of the only symbols carrying between the two series. The Club is from the playing card and has been a symbol of luck, used on USGI helmets since World War 1. However, this specific variation of the club symbol is derived from a pic I came across of a Huey doing war shit :P

Same thing happened to mine. Now it's just a $50 plain zippo.

Jon Chang

We weren't aware this was a widespread issue...Please email us at blackpowderredearth@echelon-software.com and we will make it right with a steep discount on the new lighters. I will reach out to the vendor as well and see if there is anything that can be done to fix the zippos you have already purchased.

Awesome! That’s the break down I was hoping for!

Good to hear the engravings will be more durable. Mine's rubbed off from living in my pocket, so hopefully the new ones will last longer.

Jon Chang

We have been going back and forth with the company who did the original Street Chrome lighters and the original sales rep did not communicate that the "imprint" was not durable. They actually pitched it to us so all of this is a surprise...

Jon Chang

As mentioned, if you want to provide a photo of your lighter, we are planning to offer some kind of relief to everyone who purchased one.
