AH HELL NAH, NOT IN MY COUNTRY. Well, I want that storm to eat the rats/Goverment corruption. :3

I anxiously await more information on _Near_Present. From what I currently know or think I know I'm not shaking with excitement, but I'm sure that will change as I learn more and more. Regardless, I will continue to support Jon Chang's projects because of his love for, and more importantly, his dedication to his work. I got into 28mm minis and the BPRE books a few months later. I love Modern/Ultramodern and nobody does it better than the BPRE team.

Near Present is less a departure in texture than you might think. The world building is a conflict extrapolation tailored to the 20 year horizon line that the US Department of War is orienting towards. The setting considers technology, climate, strategic interests (to include maritime and orbital routes), and of course - the man on the ground. The authenticity will be just as dialed as BPRE and the the story telling/gameplay will be just as gritty—as the protagonists are all working at the squad and platoon level.

Thanks for the response. I re-read my last post and I think the way I worded things made it sound like I was not excited or enthusiastic at all. Let me clear that up right now - I am excited...I'm just not as excited as I am when I know the new BPRE book is arriving in the next day or two. But! I have total faith in Jon and I know what _Near_Present is, it will be badass and fun.
