If you're like me, you're a big fan of "randomization" in music production. Not only can you get new, unexpected results, but it can often be just what you need to pull yourself (and your process) out of stagnation and breathe new life into what you're working on.

I got inspired by a recently released Max4Live device (more on that later!) and sought out how to create something like that myself and I actually found a solution. You can probably translate this technique to any other DAW, as I mentioned in the video.

What do you guys think of this technique? Let me know in the comments!

Cheers and enjoy,

This is fantastic Chris! The possibilities are endless. I'm going to experiment with this now and also see what I can do with some of Ableton's other modulators, such as the Expression Control. 😊

Thanks Chris, this is great! If you have the Host module in VCV Rack you can set up something that approximates to this. I used S&H modules to change the parameters: turn the clock on and off to change everything. It's more cumbersome to set up than your version, but works fine: I've already made a useable sound. Excellent stuff!

This is awesome- thanks for the tip!

Imagine randomizing the wavetable selection or being able to rando wavetable editing features...? .... Huh? ... Huh? ....
